Thanks chi大。 - #47 [fotheringay], 13-08-20 18:44Reading some articles and messages here and one phrase is quite profound to me:
"中國夢".
It's not a bad thing to have ideology like that but I do have my concerns how one uses the vehicle to achieve such goal. "Tiger Head, Snake Tails: China Today, How It Got There and Where it Is Heading" by Jonathan Fenby makes a warning reading. We should not be worried if it is heavily biased or a view from a Westerner in a distance. The point is we should take it as a reminder.
"中國夢" has been a long way back......and is still a distant one.

- #49 [fotheringay], 13-08-21 03:04Good evening Somonica,
Knowing that you are an expect in shot guns I won't be trying to upset you in any ways.
We used to maintain no guns policy in our household so there is nothing remotely related to guns, not even gun toys for our son.
However, this attitude has gradually been changed in recent years, especially from my wife. Ever since the ex-government banned fox hunting in England my wife built up an very angry opinion about this policy as it destroyed the traditional countryside games, well sort of.
Many of my colleagues also do games shooting and I sometimes followed them to take pictures. My kind of shooting but with a camera and long lens. It has been my long desire to tale some high land dears in Scotland.
At the moment I only have played with these......

thx - #53 [fotheringay], 13-08-22 15:40I think my title may be misleading a little bit as it may suggest that it's just about London. On the contrary I never lived in London. I went to London a lot and it's always just a stopping point before going to another place. It has its attraction but I never consider living there at all.
Some older London pictures from the late 80's. It isn't good quality as it's my first attempt some years back. However, the mood and the mismatched colours give a different look.
I haven't forgot trying to find more though.

I was just attracted to it because of the Chinese Revolution style. The title is so irony that "How To Be A Leader". What I didn't expect and to my amusement was that one of the characters with poster looked just like Tong Tong.
"How To Be A Leader"......"Overthrown your corrupt Government and wondering what to do next?"..... and that's the question.
"Love Democracy (in theory) but prefer Power. Golden statues and tons of Sweet lot".......now we are talking..........CY. - #55 [fotheringay], 13-08-22 16:31Those who know me can tell you that I love music and also slightly "obsessed" with vinyl.
It's true that I love music and I always play music, be it at home or at work; awake or sleep(my wife complains a lot)! To be honest vinyl never fades with me through my journey. It travels with me wherever I go.
People and institutions dismissed them and put them in the skip but I would just salvage them. Sadly the record shops in the UK have been suffering badly nationwide. We used to have about 20 record shops locally but now only down to 5.
Here is my friend whom I know for more than 20 years. A folk musician and a record shop owner. He does it not for the money but the passion. Nothing will please him more than seeing some youngsters in his shop.

We found a cottage in a last minute booking and David Cameron and his family were spotted not far from us. Apparently his holiday was cut short due to the Syrian crisis. Lucky for us.
Here is the Waterfall in Saint Nectan's Glen.

Saint Nectan's Glen has a strong hold of myth and Christianity for many years. Today it's also an important site for species of flowers and therefore it has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1985. - #58 [fotheringay], 13-08-31 19:04Many visitors will make some tor and ribbons for their loved ones.

Three Chinese friends of mine studied there
at boarding school,
though I have never been there.
When you said,
" He does it not for the money but the passion."
I can't imagine it can happen
here in Hong Kong.
Business is business and it is getting harder
to make friends while doing businesses. - #61 [fotheringay], 13-09-01 19:13Here is the view from our cottage. The far view is Padows Harbour.
