- #106 [fotheringay], 13-10-12 16:04Officially we have Autumn now judging by the colder weather. Looking back we had a very good Summer with fine weather, especially during those all important Bank Holidays. However, there was one thing missing from our annual calender. It was the Airshow that we enjoyed every Summer. Due to lack of fund the air show was cancelled though it attracted half million people watching during the two-day event. There was no entry fee but donation is advised. People just don't donate enough and that's a pity.
Some older pictures from the show in the past.

Please don't imagine that all politicians in the UK are all "singing and dancing" cheerful sods like him.
They aren't!!!!

Shooting video was my past hobby too and not just still photography. However, I haven't shot video for over 20 years. Recently I won a Nikon D5100 which is a basic DSLR but with a HD Video feature. I start to shoot more video now, starting from my music room(garage) would be a good start.
I always like Sigur Ros ever since they appeared on the soundtrack of Vanilla Sky. It may be too much to say it's a song of requiem but surely it serves me well as meditation.
The sound quality is a little bit distorted at the end of the song. The in-built mic from the DSLR just couldn't cope with the high range.

- #110 [fotheringay], 13-10-21 05:08I have been watching live internet streaming with regards to the HKTV protest gathering outside the HK Government Building.
Well done Hongkongnese let show them your spirit.
I found this on internet and this is for you guys;
"You are today raising the ones who will change history tomorrow.
You are fixing the mistakes of our generation by raising the next with honor and integrity."

Morning Somonica,
A morning song for a NEW MORNING after the "Storm".
Barry Gibb and his son were touring and I thought I would like to bring up the Bee Gees connection.
"Please be patient with your life, it's only morning and you still live for the day....."
It just happens that I like to shoot video more now these days so no better starting place than in my garden. My Canadian Red Oak has changed a lot since last week. - #113 [fotheringay], 13-10-22 05:52
OK, got the Tascam DR-07II today so I did some recording in my garage.
My workplace seems to know my hobby so they ask me if I could do some videoing for them with some conference and presentations. At the same time my colleagues have formed serval bands and I like going to their gigs. I may take some live recording for myself and for them as well.
I thought I start with this favourite of mine, and some other friends.
Please listen with Headphone or your stereo system. I would also like to hear comments with the sound quality, and perhaps a lesser degree with the video.
Local Hero-45rpm, Tascam DR-07II, -12db, WAV 24bits 48khz.
Many thanks. - #114 [fotheringay], 13-10-29 01:52

Resting at home at the moment so plenty of time to kill off.
I have a few records of this famous female singer, a favourite of many audiophiles in Hong Kong apparently. Funny I didn't buy them at all. They were given to me by family and friends.
I have listened to this record no more than three times. Nonetheless, I must say I really like it now.

Again another gift from my brother.
He suggests I should listen to more our own music. Guess what, I think he could be right.
Seiji Ozawa once said he found the ERU fascinating. He was absolutely astunened by this simple instrument. It may only have two strings but it has a heart but most of all the soul to tell a story.

Chi hing, my very personal favourite Er-hu piece, 豫北叙事曲
Hope you like it. - #120 [simpleman], 13-11-07 09:08chi hing, good morning.
- #121 [fotheringay], 13-11-07 09:24Dear dvmrp and simple man,
Greetings from England. Soon be bed for me and I hope you have a good day ahead of you.
Interesting combination of piano and edu. From the title it must be telling home sick story. It's a bit late but I will google the story behind the composition tomorrow. I will also listen to other combinations as well.
Thanks for such wonderful music. - 下一頁 (6 of 39)

Like most Governments around the world our British PM has established the e-petition for the public to make any on-line petitions. Some will be accepted and some won't. My wife is all on with some political agendas, for examples the fuel prices, our NHS, the Murdoch's scandals and local policies. Today, I asked what else could you find on the e-petition and she told me all sorts.
Just for curiosity I asked her to type in Hong Kong and here are some results.
My advise is don't take it too seriously as some are unthinkable and ridiculous while some are sincere enough but not in the best interest for the British Government. However, you are certainly not unheard from afar.
