___________
I think so. But the early ATR (late 80s?) sounds very very close to the original 70s.
The photo showed by disc c-hing is the early 70's original to my understanding. Please correct me if I am wrong. - #17 [CADiver], 11-03-18 14:28I bought several of the original ATR-001 and some of them have not even been open today (I collect) :-)
I also have a CD but not the XRCD.
This recording is not the ultimate true hi-fi, it's a nice recording but you can tell the producer was trying really hard to adjust and compensate several factors. Her voice has a very wide ranges and her singing also flux a large ranges and I think the producer was trying something to make it either more present or more hi-fi. Nevertheless, it's good music.
At the end of the day, I love this disc because her singing has so many variation, every song sung differently, it's just amazing. Lots of rythum. But this should not be your ultimate femal vocal hi-fi disc. Although I use it for testing frequently because I am familar with the characteristics of it. I had them play from a quarter million Clear Audio Table or $150K Transrotor to $10K Linn LP-12. I am waiting for the new $75K Da Vicini set up to be completed in about a month to play this. I think the Da Vinci is going to win & impress the hell out of everything else.

Is ATR second pressing? - #15 [dkyyu], 11-03-17 22:14The sound qulaity of the original 70s' and early ATR are very close. You may source the original from German eBay. The early ATR asked for $1K in 90s.
