Playing light and contrast with these already contrasty in colours but I like to know what can they give in extreme B&W.

Again, I was attracted to the tram rails and the lights, shapes and the people....

Our venture to Alfama, the old neighbourhood of Lisbon, is famous for its labyrinthine narrow streets, tile-covered houses, and vibrant Fado culture.

It's the steep upwards walking and seeing all the unbelievable traffic that amaze me.

And obviously, the food!!!

We then went to next village, Regaleira, for lunch and shopping.

Then I found this canvas painting of the Pena Palace with inspiration from "Castle In The Sky"!!!!

It's created by a local artist who obviously is a big fan of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.

I thought it was nicely done since the Pena Palace is right on top of the mountain and overseeing the flat land below. It's like a castle in the sky.

BTW, Castle in the Sky is my favourite movie as well.

This is the Pena Palace in Sintra. A visually striking palace with vibrant yellow and red colours.

It took some effort to walk up since it was built on top of a mountain. Obviously we didn't walk from sea level but still we needed to climb up steep hill for 10 minutes!!!!!

Nazaré, about an hour from Lisbon and not far from where we were, is home to the world’s biggest surfable waves, frequently exceeding 20–30 meters (65–100 feet) at Praia do Norte.

As these pictures show we are on a clammy day but the wave was still impressive.

Can you still fish with such strong current? I wonder if he was being employed by the local tourist board.

It's Cascais, a very small fishing town but like most seaside towns it has transformed into a popular tourist destination.

Young has no fear and these girls demonstrated what youth can afford!!!! It's bloody freezing!!!
