Good question. I guess a rat is cunning enough to survive and could make no.1 in the Chinese Zodiac signs.
When he was the Health Secretary, we from the NHS called him Jeremy Cu?t. - #31 [fotheringay], 22-06-07 21:00Tom Tugendhat would be my first choice. With army background and family background I would have imagined he has a clear and better understanding with duty, rightness and order.
He has a strong stance with China especially its implication in a global stage. He is one of those named in the ban list by the Chinese authority. He allegedly was sent a threatening letter by Beijing or affiliated organisation.

Liz Truss will be my second choice since she is the most experienced minister among the bunch. That her being my second choice due to her some wrongdoing in the past, though not major it works as a reminder and also she is within BJ corrupted circle and so guilty by association.
2022-06-07 21:01:25 - #30 [drhandguns], 22-06-07 20:19Of all the listed candidates, I think Liz Truss is the better one. Her relatively strong arm policies against the CCP would get my vote. And why the heck is Jeremy Hunt still in the run? His Chinese wife hosted a pro-CCP, trying to defend some of their policies and to hide their human right issues.

12 months from now Keir Starmer Vs Hunt or Truss or Raab?

2022-06-07 18:19:40 - #28 [fotheringay], 22-06-07 17:56In politics, especially within your own party and MP's, it's not the number who voice support to you that you take a deep look.
It's the number whose votes against you!!
40% of your own party, that's significant!!!
I dislike him as a person, even more so by discrediting him as a politician, not to mention as a PM leading the country.
It's not a joke any more.
2022-06-07 18:01:16 - #27 [hahayanyan], 22-06-07 17:13I can see why people dislike him, I also feel he lacks of some ethical and integrity quality too..
Which he should not be a leader for the nation...or PM at all for the world most advance civilization in certain aspect
But those lacking of ethical quality was quite obvious too when May stepped down
Fact told me.. The parties may not have a better choices from their careful consideration at such time and even now or not a right time
Am I his fan... Personally yes.... I like his hair style super much.. Just he should not be a PM... But why he become one.. I lack of insight at this moment.. I will like him more if he is not the PM
Do I agree he is a leader.., I disagree he is
Always agree to disagree
And he is quite entertaining.. Agree totally
Haha

I think we can agree on that BJ is a muppet, only purpose is to entertain. - #25 [hahayanyan], 22-06-07 16:33I watched the live.. At 4am last nite.. Hk time
2022-06-07 16:33:09 - #24 [fotheringay], 22-06-07 16:20Both labour and Lib Dem will be strengthened by the vent last night. I don't think for a moment that both parties want BJ out at all.
Rather, they prefer him to stay to inflict more injuries to the Government and the Troies.
The former Conservative leader Lord Hague understands the significant crisis for the Party and has called on Boris Johnson to quit as PM, saying he has experienced a "greater level of rejection" than any of his predecessors.
Writing in the Times, the peer says that while Johnson survived the vote, "the damage done to his premiership is severe".
"Words have been said that cannot be retracted, reports published that cannot be erased, and votes have been cast that show a greater level of rejection than any Tory leader has ever endured and survived," he writes.
"Deep inside, he should recognise that, and turn his mind to getting out in a way that spares party and country such agonies and uncertainties."
As well as being Conservative leader for four years, Lord Hague is a former foreign secretary and leader of the House of Commons.
He noted he did not face a confidence vote while party leader from 1997 to 2001, saying he "would have regarded my position as completely untenable if more than a third of my MPs had ever voted against me".
"The nature of this particular revolt makes it qualitatively as well as quantitatively devastating," he writes. - #23 [hkzt3105], 22-06-07 07:38BJ is going to lose the job to someone else in the party , or lose to Labour in the next election.
I split time between living in London and Hong Kong, and during the recent local election I was massively impressed by the Labour supporters in my region as well as their election results. Under Corbyn I almost forgot the Labour still has a chance.
It is just a matter of time. Totally agree. - #22 [Somonica], 22-06-07 07:36Chi 。。♡

Another night of disappointment to say the least.
I don't normally like to insult anyone with words like " "show some backbone " but I am just so angry that I must admit I totally agree with Starmer.
With news from BBC, ITV, Sky and Channel 4 there was only one Tory MP with interview saying the right thing: "BJ is not fit to lead the country"
I remember Max Hastings, the ex-editor of The daily Telegraph and boss of BJ, once said that "I have argued for a decade that, while he is a brilliant entertainer who made a popular maître d’ for London as its mayor, he is unfit for national office, because it seems he cares for no interest save his own fame and gratification."
