volcanoes here in the park are still active, there are always some kinds of volcanic activity effecting the landscape and the ecosystem around...

here a relatively minor eruption shooting out volcanic ashes change the topical forest to a desert in very short order...

Finally the actively smoking Halemaʻumaʻu crater itself...

since its explosion in 2008, half of the Crater Rim Drive is now closed.

by the next morning, the ship came around to the other side of the Big Island....

Kona also known as the sunny side...

Kona do not have pier, so we need to woke up early and got the tender...

my little red Sony TX5 got all the credit for those amazing photos and 720p videos...

and sure enough, its skin started to peel off, just like all other TX5 used under the sea.... =.="
