This record is a classic. I was 15 when this came out and I think that the best music happened between 1979 and 1982. ABC were a great group along with Human League, Visage, Flock Of Seagulls,Ultravox. Duran Duran ( first 2 lps) , Depeche Mode,Japan, Yazoo,Culture Club,Talk Talk, Tears For Fears ,Soft Cell andplus all the post punk new wave music . The Jam, Stranglers, The Clash, XTC, Undertones,Pretenders, Siouxsie And The Banshees, The Smiths , Lloyd Cole And The Commotions, Prefab Sprout as well as the SKA revival with bands like Madness, The Beat, Specials, Selecter, Bad Manners, and Dexy's and UB40 . It was a great time to be growing up and I really wish I could go back in time to re-live those great years. If someone said to me that I could re-live 1979 when I was 13 to 1982 once more and take 20 years off my life I would take it without a doubt. They were the best years of my life . I know I spent some of the time in care for doing a few wrong things but I would still love to re-live those times and I wouldn't do anything different. I feel sorry for kids of 13 ,14 and 15 nowadays because the music they are listening to won't be listened to in 35 years lie ours and still sound good. I mean , I can't see anyone getting emotional listening to Eminem, Dr Dre, Drake, Jax Jones,Westlife, Boyzone, Take That, anything from x factor. When I hear a record like All Of My Heart or Look Of Love by ABC it gives me goosebumps just hearing it as well as all the classic bands I've mentioned . Music in the late 70's /early 80's was in my opinion the best era. I know people might disagree but that's just how I feel. 90% of my cd/vinyl collection dates back to the late 70'/early 80's and I will always play these songs with fond memories. They say that the best time of your life is your schooldays but for me it's the age you were when you were just getting in to music that is the best. I hated school and missed a lot because I was always working to fund my record collection, buy clothes, stereos and money for live concerts. I don't regret anything I did when I was younger. I know I didn't get many qualifications but I was happy at the time and I enjoyed my life then. I was told by teachers that I could have gone on to get degrees and A levels if I'd put my mind to it but I wanted to live the way I have described and I really don't regret anything. I has a good childhood, plenty of money that I earned through various jobs, paper rounds, part time jobs etc paid for my life style and I was happy. It was a good time to be the age I was.
