- #2 [alexanderkoo], 24-02-12 16:01It depends on the brand and generation 4 or 5. Crucial gen. 4 is ok, so far so good. Team group, less common. 10% is not a huge difference in actual $$$. 1T is entry level in capacity.

2024-02-12 16:52:25 - #6 [alexanderkoo], 24-02-12 16:593* should be the most expensive gen 4 SSD.

- #11 [alexanderkoo], 24-02-12 18:24I bought SATA external SSD's last year. More recent ones are M2 NVME, internal or external. For desktop, can add PCIe 4x or 16x card for NVME SSD. For notebook, can't help.
Before writing off a ssd due glitch. Download Seagate Seatool for low level format.(aka zero filling) Can work with other brands. Good for rectifying problem due to boot record. I saved an old SSD this way.

- #16 [alexanderkoo], 24-02-13 07:41At least, buy two SSD's for identical data.(if necessary , plus an external HDD, larger capacity, but sluggish, 100M speed, master backup) External ssd with NVME is still quite expensive. Can judge from appearance, narrow elongated. SATA one is more square. Even for crucial, two types in production. Speed 2000M is fastest, SanDisk(having complaints)or Crucial. Kid got 2X2T Kingston, 5 years' warranty. Disc to disc around 500M, never reached the design value.
- #18 [kopite], 24-02-13 09:17#17. Intel has sold their SSD business to Hynix sometime ago.

Some Samsung SSDs, e.g 870 EVO and 980 PRO, have premature failure problems recently but seems have been fixed now (have to wait and see if the fixes last).

- 下一頁 (1 of 2)
