- #420 [bambino], 21-01-11 12:49".......Weight loss is associated with the water content of green coffee. The loss of mass and expansion in volume during roasting results in a reduction in the density of the coffee bean. Beans lose 12-25% of their weight........"

this percentage depends on the type of beans and the level of roasting (light vs dark roast). perhaps you are into espresso and prefer dark roast, and thus more weight loss. i do pour over and like medium roast. It means less loss in water content (weight).

Sound about right I suppose
Not bad at only less than 6 trial for getting that result

- #418 [bambino], 21-01-10 20:18these are my 5th & 6th trials. i splitted 112g green beans into 2 equal batches (56g each) as the capacity of this toy is 50-70g. The roasted beans weigh 48.5g and 48g respectively. so it's quite consistent. total roasting time of each batch is kept to approximately 14 mins.
- #417 [hahayanyan], 21-01-10 20:00Interesting.... How the learning curve to get that roast?
Seem ok quality roast too - #416 [bambino], 21-01-10 18:15roasted some beans with this 尿壺 today. am new to this hobby and it takes me a few runs to learn how to play this toy.
eventually, this is what i've got for a medium roast.

I ALmOst made a prefect shot.... Coffee come out from all holes almost at the same time.. But I forget to start the video haha
Well worth the EFFORT TO PRACTICE with the upside down jug... HAHA - #414 [hahayanyan], 21-01-09 22:44Also want to find a glass container with those valve top.. Haha
- #409 [bambino], 21-01-08 18:56probably due to aging.....
- #408 [hahayanyan], 21-01-08 16:36Haha that thing is interesting... If it is slightly over heated at pre heat.. The next program will not start until it get cool haha
Been using it for quite many yr.. May be re than 6 yrs at least.. Each week about 2 roast.. Very dependable, recent months... I am not sure.. Is the bean is harder.. It take more heat to crack or the aging of the lamp... Haha
Used to be around 11 12 mins for the first crack... For most of the bean
Likely about the lamp
最後修改時間: 2021-01-08 16:36:54 - #407 [bambino], 21-01-08 15:26i read on the net that preheating may help reduce roasting time. of cos, manual mode + P5 + D (high drum speed) will do the trick.
- #406 [hahayanyan], 21-01-08 13:24IF I AM LESS LAZY
THEN real manual mode ..haha (but not 250 gram at 500 gram setting ) - #405 [hahayanyan], 21-01-08 12:50
haha there are quite a few mod idea too
need to learn the cooling time too
最後修改時間: 2021-01-08 13:05:46 - #404 [hahayanyan], 21-01-08 12:11sort of..haha
seem it is not exactly straight forward for getting access to the lamp.........
seem you also roast your own bean too
i do notice it get weaker , and i do remember when i was oven..air flyer..pan etc...it was well under 16 mins... 12 mins...9 mins..etc..
最後修改時間: 2021-01-08 12:14:55 - #403 [bambino], 21-01-08 11:56since your Behmor was bought 2nd handed, it might be time to replace the heating element. before that, it's good to check with manufacturer whether 1st crack at 16m is normal (for roasting 500g beans)
- #402 [hahayanyan], 21-01-08 11:42Yes.. It is under powered
I suppose there may be more powerful heating elements I can install
OH.. Why not to take a look now haHa - 下一頁 (5 of 26)

Indeed first of all is the lost of water content.. And then the skin, not sure how's the skin affecting the taste, I have a habit to shake them all off, but not try to measure the fall off skin weight
