- #82 [swc], 05-10-16 20:31Yes, to play with a M3 together with lenses like 35mm., dual range 50mm./f.2, collapsible 90mm./f4, 135mm/f2.8 with viewfindier and rangefinder attachment is great fun. You don't need to take real shots. When you see the above gears in front of you, you can't stop to handle any one of them immediately to feel the perfect built quality and the genius design of the decade. You enjoy playing with them like toys and will forgive any of their shortcommings in performance comparing with lenses of modern design.
For me, the Leica M is the LEGO for adults. - #83 [stanfield], 05-10-19 14:26Is anyone know what is the streest price for a new M7? thanks

- #84 [rickymartin], 05-10-19 17:26Hi all Leica fans,
Have you tried the Japanese Leica copies like vintage Canon 7 etc. ? - #85 [and.t], 05-10-19 21:05Dear Stanfield,
Sorry that I do not provide you the latest street price of the M7 ( may be up to $18,000 to $19,000, since it would be adjusted every two months, it's just like the fish market. But I really urge you don't spend that kind of money to buy this so called the classic camera but boosted by the eletronic shutter. MP should be your right choice, if you look for a M. Please please think about it three times !! - #86 [leicatam], 05-10-20 00:26support and.t hing view. You can get better M product for such money.
- #87 [swc], 05-10-20 15:19Any Leica with a single battery in the body cannot be called as a classic.

- #95 [yukclee], 06-01-27 11:57Hi, TL25a hing.
I have a M3 double stroke. Double stroke (DS) means earlier version. At that time, Leica worries that winding the film too quickly will cause static electricity. So with the new invention of the lever winding, they first decide to wind the wind in two strokes instead of one. Later on, they found they over worry and change the winding to only 1 stroke, i.e. single stroke (SS).
I think they are more or less the same in value. Mechanically speaking, I think M3 is better constructed than M6. You wind the film, press the shutter and you will understand what I mean. But M3 viewer cannot directly support anything wider than 50mm. So you need special spectacles for 35mm and another viewer for 28mm. All these are inconvenience. And that's why I get a M6 later :-) - #96 [and.t], 06-01-27 15:41TL 25a,
Generally SS is expensive than DS, it is becaue of the newer production (in time scale from the date made up to now, it is no different). But you may find the the market there is a big price different of a OK workable M3 and the shinny mint one, since the latter is hard to find and being a gem for the collectors.
To me as a start up, look for a user condition M3 or even M2 in less than $ 9,000 would be OK. The places you can check the used Leica can be in with "Chiu Xiao Kun" Pu Tong Hua of "Photo taking shop" inside "Kamberry"-(can'r remember the spelling) Hotel, near by Chan Hung, or Check with Kwan Lo at Shogun camera oppersite of the Macau Cafe (Han Kou RD may be) near by Kowloon Park....!
Leave me your e-mail if you want to know more!! Regards!!
By the way, What is red scale lens, I am a new guy of this lens, how cheap it is !! - #97 [bonky], 06-01-27 15:47red scale is screw mount

"Chiu Xiao Guan" is inside the Hotel on Kimberley road and bear the same name. Shogun is on Lock rd, next to Hankow road. Photographic is a piece of art, you enjoy it for life time. My first time using camera, Nikon FM2, was 30 years ago. I believe I still have another next 30 years. Digital photographic will replace film, same as DV replacing VHS.
