Someone asked similar question before. Not simply look at the cost but the conditions of agreement inclusive of parts? Besides, can you find someone or yourself to fix the AC once it breaks down yet with available parts and ballpark cost.

Check 過原來2021年4月入手，之前已經續保2年（$1424），今次續保2年$1080但好多parts 都唔保，真係要唸過，……

上年的親身經歷，沒續保四年大廠變頻，十月首次出現自動關機, call熱線隔天
上門檢查先收六佰，師傅說壞室外機底板，要先自己找人搭棚二千五，等了個
多星期才換好收二千。
到了十一尾又無故停機，今次三個月內不收檢查費，這次師傅話要換室外機感
應器收佰八，因已拆棚再搭番又二千五，前後煩足七個星期，花費了七千幾銀
仲俾老婆少到失魂，有時只能埋怨黑仔行衰運。

You are right wrt reliability but many folks here would object, thinking that inverter is kind of cutting edge invention, saving energy. Definitely not, my company has been using hundreds of them for speed control of chemical dosing pump, for a few decades. All depends on application.

Better still, fixed platform or concrete ground for repair without scaffolding but 90% buildings haven't got such. Only not to spec. wall mounted aluminium framework.

Possibly, only Gree still offers fixed speed split AC, unless you buy from Taobao.

留番啲錢曰後一壞就買新機，小數怕長計，

禾都買咗部 Panasonic 變頻式35L 微波爐，

$14XX . 一年保用行貨，壞？？咪買過部囉。

使咩另外比多三年額外保養費呀！保用都咁話喇！

唔耐用品牌，冇下次咪得囉。

Panasonic 好耐用，如果三四年出問題應該係因為安裝師傅的手工問題

呢樣果樣parts唔包，買個maint實情去飬佢？
朋友試過就算續maint都可以話零件停產冇得整，

記憶中自己買電器未試過俾錢買保養，感覺上3、4年壞得既電器，個牌子都可以填得海
