And one AC1500 node in the playroom, connected to the master

The dsl A68U with antennas pointing to the garden in 2 directions (and also connected. To the master)

By having 2 node connected to the master, seem to having better overall outcome

Placement of any type of routers is important. I think the "Master" may not be necessary the fastest or most powerful. In your case, the router sends signal to your backyard can be the most powerful model. For secondhand older Asus routers, AC88U, AC86U, AC5300, Blue Cave etc...do the job, but NOT AC87U!!!! I made a mistake before buying an AC87U, it DOES NOT support AIMESH despite it is fast and very powerful.
Another point is that you can use any router to connect to ISP modem. As long as there is 1 AIMESH router connected to internet, you can set it as AIMESH Master and add Node(s) to that AIMESH router.

Having some weaker spots, I have a feeling, I do not need more than 4 mesh device, and now having 3

So it make sense for "less Cheap", get a better bigger newer one as a master, seem it will be around £35


Quite happy for the outcome

I been Sai Kung for super low speed for so many area..the best was smartone5G Haha

However it is a dsl - ac68u

I try to set it up as a node, without success.. Being trying for a few hours.. Haha so far no success

It is quite a good wifi router, manage to get it work as a standalone router, but not as a node
