- #6171 [fotheringay], 25-11-22 20:34A good reason to keep the R50 is that the minimum distance is 0.5m over 0.7m of M50.
It may not not seem much but at times it has an advantage for both macro and Bokeh effect for portraits.

That's why I love the 50mm.
All taken @f2 and closest focal distance.

Not spectacular as not 3D enough to me but OK.

最後修改時間: 2025-11-20 08:24:06 - #6161 [JCR33], 25-11-20 06:11Not sure why my era with R8 was either 24/35 or 80/100/180, 50mm was never my lens.
Until I had a chance to buy the 50 1.0 V4 and the 50 2.8 collapsable I began my journey with M50's. After starting M9, I bought the 50 1.4 and later 50 2.0 APO, which is a great combo with M9. My last 50 was the reissue of 1.2 which is also one of my favourites.
This was taken before I got the reissue 1.2

I had used the 50/f2 before so I know what to expect, basically the R version of M.
75-210 was not real Leica Glasses but a Japanese cheap pretender.
Then the 100/2.8 APO and I only had one word for it ..................."Stunning!!
Eventually I bought the 50/f2 as I always love 50mm.

No I traded in my M8.2 for M9 after using it for 6 months. But I still got the Digilux 3, R8 and M6. ;-)
M8 or 8.2 was the first M digital and even the sensor size was only 10+ MP and had to use IR filters when shooting outdoor....
A lot of fun but image quality is unique and colourful.

Do you still have your M8 or M8.2?
All these years I had 3 M8 and they came and gone. I believe it has a cult status now because of the CCD sensor.
Apart from some Leica own lenses I also owned quite a few Voigtländer.
I had very fond memory with two lenses, one being the Ultron 35mm f/1.7 Aspherical and the other being 50mm APO.
Some old pictures taken with either of these two lenses.

- #6153 [fotheringay], 25-11-18 06:13Not his, I had it for a few months from my friend who was getting the SL2.
I did try if it would suit me. Nice camera but the Leica lenses are just too much for me. If only using other makes and that is not fair.

Chi, your R 50 2.0 has the close focus of 0.5m is the standard for most R lens, especially the wide angle. The 35 1.4 is also 0.5m and the 24 2.8 is even closer, only 0.3m. I have so much fun taking wide angle images and close up.
