- #64 [fotheringay], 20-08-27 00:02Double platter or any heavy platters could potentially alter the speed incorrectly.
Nigel, a member from Lencoheaven, has developed the speed controller and you can find out the details from the following link:
https://www.lencoheaven.net/forum/index.php?topic=13981.0
I am sure Master HaHa should be able to figure out the whole idea.
Apart from the speed controller I would just use the good old fashion method by checking speed with this strobe speed disc.
Since the motor speed is driven by the motor shaft and it is linear so the speed change is gradual. You can correct the speed and mark it on the speed selector for next use.
I know it is not as cool as having a speed controller but I am just a lazy person ^_^

so nice ..................
interesting reading - 177 pages haha

Ha ha Chi兄! 懶惰就冇藥醫啦haha!
不需大費周章如果對控速有性趣可以直接找Chi兄談談! - #68 [hahayanyan], 20-08-27 14:01totally agree " 懶惰就冇藥醫" haha
first i need to learn and read before i seek help haha
thxxxx - #69 [charlie], 20-08-27 17:44my speed controller was also based on Nigel's design. Our group made nearly 20 of such controller and some used them for other AC motor TTs too like 301, 401, Cuemaster...
if you search some commercial speed controllers they cost a bomb!
@fotheringay, manual adjust is good but the speed controller has a variable voltage output so lessen the vibration of the motor.
@hahayanyan, get the lenco first and do the speed controller later.
you can mount a bare bone Lenco on cola cans without the wooden plinth and it will sound a lot better than many TTs in the market....but your YMMV...
I seriously recommend all Lenco users to get the Malaysian's spindle bearing! Buy in groups to save shipping cost. - #70 [hahayanyan], 20-08-28 11:21Charlie
thx thx , as far as the speed controller for other AC , i having one Throne TD150 with a dead Motor... i do feel like to rewinding the Coil of that not too good motor , may be it is good for that too
i may visit a seller at Sept 4 for a Lenco
if it is a need for Machining from the group for those fun parts ,,,lets me know
this is what i made a fews week ago, an add on weight to a SME ...
thxxx for sharing

最後修改時間: 2020-08-28 11:36:49 - #72 [charlie], 20-08-28 15:31Victor TT?
- #73 [hahayanyan], 20-08-28 15:40yes, it is a T71 , cost hkd 1600 without arm . start up fast..brake at instant , tight W&F % , but no pitch control
but what more to ask for ...at that cost.. haha , quality decent sound, it performance reasonably well neglecting the price etc.. ,it is a competence drive for the task
haha - #74 [charlie], 20-08-28 17:02i have the TT-101 with pitch control :-)
- #75 [hahayanyan], 20-08-28 19:03It is not apple to apple
But if it is blind test between t101 and the lenco... What may be the outcome?
Fun to know..or even speculation
Haha - #76 [charlie], 20-08-28 23:08i have a belt drive TT as well. So many tonearms and cartridges...different combinations...
i wish i could be like Ah Wher with his vast collections of gear. Absolutely mind-blowing!
I don't wanna restrict myself to one style of 'music' playback.
Idler TT is the not the end game for me (not yet)....as always, YMMV
As to your question, when the pandemic is under control, you are invited to hear them yourself :-) - #77 [hahayanyan], 20-08-28 23:30may be about 10 yrs ago, JBL fellow took me to Ah wher 's places at Chai Wan
it was front roll of more than 1 x Micro , and at the back of the wall, there was a Pioneer P3, and JC verdier ( may be 2 of them) , it is quiet obvious a lot of attention was noticed on hows he set up those Micro ...... the flywheel at his best..........
forget which amp was used ,but it was the pair of Rey Audio , rather unique offset horn on a stand
forget what phono stages too
some of the very good presentation i ever listened

what if....the 2nd platter is at 15 inches...etc... don't have to be same diameter too, and it make a lot of sense too
