We often talk about using a CLEAN power source for our audio equipment. Clean means it is a pure SINE wave, noise free, and no harmonics. Using isolation transformer, power plant (AC-AC converter) and now solar power generator have been around for some years. I use my oscilloscope to monitor how the incoming mains AC voltage is like through a 6.3Vac transformer.
