My pleasure.

I am not a LS3/5a user, nor am I interested in owning one.

However, I do have experience with the seller, emporiumhifi.

Nick is the owner of emporiumhifi and his main warehouse is not far from where I live. He got his stock from everywhere, any where, private sellers, auction house or house clearance.

He is a straightforward individual to deal with who knows his business. With second hand equipment, it is best to check the condition carefully because from experience his idea of very good condition doesn’t equate to most . Never an issue to get a refund if there has been a problem.

Many many moons ago he told me that there was a Chinese supplier which made Western Electric copies and he would be interested in getting them to the UK. I think he was referring to Line Magnetic.

今早，到 eBay 詳細地睇番 [#17394] 那對 Spendor 3/5A，發覺個木箱和紙箱亦有問題。

問題一，木皮：
- 從木箱的相片來看，木皮是 walnut。
- 不過，紙箱貼紙標示木皮是 teak。

問題二，木皮貼紙：
- 紙箱的相片顯示，那張 ‘TEAK’ 貼紙是冚在另一張貼紙上，有違尋常做法。
- 這張 ‘TEAK’ 貼紙好可能是後期人為的，並非廠的做法。
- 同理，位於這張 ‘TEAK’ 貼紙下方的那張較大的貼紙，看來是用來遮蓋原來的木皮資料，亦好大可能是後期人為的，並非廠的做法。

問題三，編號貼紙：
- 紙箱的相片顯示，編號貼紙是冚在另一張大得多的貼紙上，有違尋常做法。
- 這張 ‘編號’ 貼紙好可能是後期人為的，並非廠的做法。
- 同理，位於這張 ‘編號’ 貼紙下方的那張大得多的貼紙，看來是用來遮蓋面積大得多的原廠手寫編號資料，亦好大可能是後期人為的，並非廠的尋常做法。



接近這期數原廠的木皮貼紙做法和編號做法，如下圖所示 (2019年尾從網上世界下載得來，記不起出處是否eBay) ：

多謝指教，因為小弟想找一對3/5A,都有在網上扒下文，在eBay上看到這對，但賣家說沒有摩改過，但又覺得有啲奇怪，所以問吓各位高手？

當然不是原裝，原因如下：
(1) 圖片顯示低音單元為白肚臍，即用於約八二年中至八七年左右的15 ohm 3/5A 。
(2) 圖片顯示為 bi-wire 接法，即用於約九二年及打後的11 ohm 3/5A。


以原裝計，(1) 和 (2) 不能並存。
既然這對3/5A 是 (1) 和 (2) 並存，便意味著這對3/5A不是原裝。

請教各位高手，圖中3/5A是否原裝無摩過？

(1) 單憑這幅圖片的分音器外觀來看：
- 三隻電感是原庄的
- PCB 是原庄的
- 電容、電阻沒有異樣
- 下方那枝8火5%灰身線阻標示22歐姆阻值，是匹配白肚臍的阻值

(2) 單憑這幅圖片的低音背脊外觀來看：
- 低音單元好大機會是SP1003的白肚臍期數
- 手寫的數字看似是原庄的

(3) 單憑這幅圖片的防漏膠條的濶度和貼法來看：
- 前障版看似是原庄的

(4) Spendor LS3/5A 15 ohm並非早期的15 ohm，因此Lego式仿製的傾向便會很低很低。


基於以上四點，我會斷言是真的，並非Lego。

請教各位達人，可否從這些圖片得知這Spendor LS3/5a white belly 是真或是Lego?

No, not really. Small speakers are never my first love. £5 grands+!!!!! No way.

Furthermore, I have further doubt with this pair. The BBC License plate looks just "too tidy" to me as compared to the rest. I may be too suspicious but I have no knowledge of authentic and vintage Rogers LS3/5a so I am not sure.

The Serial nos are 87 and 88 and can the 3/a enthusiacs point to the direction that they are the real deal?

８７／８８　is extremely rare. But my pair (９９／１００) looks better. :)

This pair is going strong, very strong indeed. When I saw it listed it was only £50 and now already £5212 and still having 8 days to go.

有幸聽過當年棠記造的鋼磁3/5a.
確是好聲, 據他當年分享, 因70年代喇叭大多用粉磁, 效能較低, 所以換了鋼磁便有脫胎換骨的提升.
他的3/5a如此出色, 我估還有兩個原因：
1. 把分音器外置
2. 以花梨木重造聲箱,深度明顯增加了.

今天不少喇叭單體用釹磁, 性能比鋼磁更好.
以今天的科技, 要造一對比3/5a更優勝的超小型喇叭並不難, 卻造不出一樣的經典.

外置式3/5a分音器

玩Hi-Fi從來都係個人嘅事，開心share係好事來的！

做3/5A 並不需要任何人認同，只是個人特別喜歡那種特有的聲音，回想擁有第一對3/5A時就是那種吸引魅力，直至成為擁躉，從前輩口中得知，鴨記有位做鋼磁3/5A前輩高手(棠記)與他的同路人(恆聲雄哥)一齊出產鋼磁3/5A成為佳話，擁有以上鋼磁3/5A的擁躉，不下多對，而現金放出來二手市場的絕無僅有，因為當你聽過它發出來音質，十分難忘(只是個人和小撮的朋友感覺)不喜勿打頭！
