- #61 [foxtan], 05-10-04 09:40Agree with DenonFan's comment!! If using Rega Planar3 now, the upgrade path should be a used P25, or newly debut P7 w/ RB600, RB700 rather than Project TT. The RB series tonearm is much more robust built and stable than the Project one! Or if you are lucky enough, a mint condition Technics vintage SP25, SP15 w/SH15 base, Thorens TD321, TD125MkIII with a SME 3009series II, SAEC 308N, Audiocraft AC-3000 would certainly win teh Project in every aspect!!
- #62 [open], 05-10-04 10:31Thank
all - #63 [ant33.33], 05-10-04 11:19I share foxtan-hing's view that a vintage Technics/Thorens SME/SAEC/Audiocraft combo would sound better than any Project combo, since to my ears my SP25/Micro 505 combo sounds better than my old Project 6.9 combo.

- #64 [foxtan], 05-10-04 11:33Hi ant33.33,
Hehe......maybe sharing in this thread would raised more noise and contibution than opening an "Old cake Vinyl" thread......as I guess not so many members are willing to admit they are "Ols cakes"......... ^______^ - #65 [ant33.33], 05-10-04 11:39Hi Foxtan,
I agree, although I suspect that regardless of age, 'old cake' stuff may not be to everyone's preference, especially cartridges, which will also deteriorate in time, no matter how you store them :(
Happy spinning 'old cake' stuff! - #66 [leochan], 05-10-04 12:28Oracle II / Initrac / Dynavector 17

Depends on what I'm listening to...
for vocals, will be 301 + UP-4 + Ortofon MC/Supex/Accuphase
for jazz, will be 401 + AC-4400 + Grace/FR
for pop/rock, will be SP-25 + MA505 + Shure
I don't listen to classical, so no combo for that yet :)
