- #41 [jeffr33], 14-03-03 11:41Whatever you do, don’t switch to ALK. The ALK is a highly praise crossover on the net which sounds terrible unless you play you system at earth shattering volume. At normal level listening (80-90db), both type AA or Type A are fine.
- #42 [軍城], 14-03-03 19:01#41 valuable advice, thanks

- #44 [jeffr33], 14-03-11 13:22I re-cap the type AA with solen caps for around 180HKD. Only 3 caps/crossover on type AA. For other crossover parts and crossover, you can order directly form Bob Crites, http://www.critesspeakers.com/crossovers.html on ebay.

hard to find it from HK or chian ? (just asking ) - #46 [welborne], 15-08-08 13:23A nice way to reinforce the side wall and tame the famous La Scala resonance in a reversible way. We got balls!
- #47 [welborne], 15-08-09 14:24Any La Scala user here uses Type A crossover?
- #48 [welborne], 15-08-10 13:06^^

Are you happy with your LS? - #51 [welborne], 15-08-10 21:59Thanks Alfred.
So far so good, but since I am so used to speaker without crossover (not sure if this is the reason), the LS sounds too 斯文、太規擧than how I remembered them as. I meed more time with them. That's why I am looking into the much simpler abd primitive Type A . - #52 [welborne], 15-08-10 22:21But I can hear from La scala what horn is famous for: the "musician are here" realism
- #53 [dy111], 15-08-10 22:22300b is good for la scala.
對低音不很爆,要爆就要换對JBL低音。 - #54 [welborne], 15-08-10 22:29I will experiment with simple Type A crossover, only one part per driver. Minimum phase error. Brice Edgar reckon Paul Klipsch got it right at the beginning.
But worse power handling especially for tweeters. I guess for home use it wont be a problem. All drivers were tough PA drivers, much like my Bastanis - #55 [welborne], 15-08-10 22:40Using my 300B, sound is sweet... But I was looking for more than just sweetness. Wanting more punch, dynamics and speed.
- #56 [welborne], 15-08-10 22:48I have a pair of ripole subwoofer with 18" woofer , which is part of my Bastanis open baffle system. I briefly tried them the other nights with the LS, what a wonderful compliment! Though i would say they are not strictly needed, but noce to have!!!
- #57 [welborne], 15-08-10 22:50Same dipole subwoofer as in here

I am driving my Klipsch Belle with 8B now, it seem more dynamic!
Many die hard KLipsch fans still swear by the Type A crossover, even it might fry the tweeter :)

I think sub woofers are unnecessary, especially if the speakers are placed back against the back wall. just my 2cents
