小弟理解，香港家居牆蘇供電通常都係Ring Circuit，13A蘇頭嗰條fuse作用係用嚟保護條電源線，萬一電器損壞引致大電流，電器裡面嗰條fuse如果萬一又失效，而使電源線發熱著火，如果牆蘇同插蘇頭都係用美式就會有危險性

我記得都超過十年了，嗰陣住村屋，開住電腦，行雷一下，成部腦瓜咗，包括芒、底板火牛顯示卡連keyboard 電腦喇叭都燒，最重要嘅插電腦同電腦喇叭嘅拖板，都燒埋，雖不是防雷，但突如奇來突波，13A fuse係保護唔到，fuse不是萬能，甚至懷疑如果短路，fuse是否保護到？都係要靠電箱fuse跳掣
最近試過排蘇短路（水線甩咗搭住火線），由於拖板係隔離牛攞電，隔離牛fuse燒咗，但隔離牛保護掣跳咗，套機無事，隔咗3日嗰掣回返落嚟，換返fuse就繼續用返

英式13A插頭最大電流用13Afuse一般配1.25mm^2以上線，有啲低功率電器配幼啲線就會用細啲電流嘅fuse，防止條線被誤插至大功率電器時燒咗條線搞到火災。

係啊，好多人誤會，以為英式13A插蘇頭嘅電源線，插蘇頭嗰粒fuse數值一定要配返13A，安全啲就跟返音響器材入面嗰粒fuse嘅數值(數值不可高於13A)

英國流行一個擦邊球發燒玩意；就是用 BS1362 20A fuse 代替標準的13A fuse, 大前題必須要Ring circuit 或單頭用＞=2.5mm²線，電箱用32A MCB, 並了解下面UK例書的要點，違反上述的就是違法，,要留意BS1362的所有fuse rating 都是1.6倍load current, 煲30分鐘先會燒，如果用20A fuse的話即是可用32A頂30分鐘，所以個BS 13A插品質要非常好才成！有UK發燒友話换了20A fuse之後，發覺音質改善是比任何美式插/座都要好，而且佢哋拆解Fuse後發覺fuse線是扁平而巨大的，而且導體是用高频無集膚效應的品種咁講，大家相信嗎？：

UK BS1362 例書節錄：

A 20A BS1362 fuse is for specific higher-current circuits or appliances where the cable is appropriately rated (e.g., 2.5mm² or larger), the fuse current that the fuse is capable of carrying, is specified as 1.6 times the rated current (Inf = 1.6 In). The fuse must be capable of carrying the non-fusing current for at least 30 minutes.

其實搞清楚整個系統電理就可以，發燒友都唔會用幼身電源線，器材功率亦唔會太高，計掂數做固定電源唔用插蘇更好。

我新裝洗衣/乾衣机開机試冇耐熄咗 竟然係燒咗fuse 查一輪發覺原來洗衣房粒係3A 我叫地盤經理嚟睇吓 佢都R晒頭......

3A fuse is gas boiler and timer safety standard of it is connected to thermostat and gas boiler

If it is at UK , is important

If it is related to gas boiler power..,it should be only connected to boiler and thermostat

Unless the boiler already have another 3A rocker switch otherwise...

@[#25] , I am not sure who in the UK would apply this, with my limited knowledge not many local residents would even know this 20A fuse!

The pictures are from this original article which highlight the danger of this "fake" BS1362 fuse.

This article in fact is telling us be aware of this fake fuse and avoid to use.

I don't mean to bring it up, with respect from the tragic Tai Po Fire, but I do feel 家居安全 is the title of this thread.

BTW, most UK house owners would have home insurance and if the insurer found out that you had used the non-certified or non-legal compliance products, your policy will be voided.

You take your own risk. I certainly will not do that, not only potential of big loss of property but also important human life.

Perhaps when you see the name the manufacturer's 'Xingguang’ you probably should have some ideas.

咁就好喇，咁就double check boiler係咪有3a，係有期安全原因的，可能boiler用錯fuse

入牆電線如果唔咪跟開唔知粗度，都要拆開睇睇穩陣啲，夠粗就可以用合適大啲嘅fuse。
