if u do this it means the bass from 80 to 120hz will disappear.

your av receiver will make a low pass of 120hz while your subwoofer will make a low pass of 80hz so the 80 to 120hz sound will be cut out.

i dont think u want this to happen.

your subwoofer crossover should be set at maximum. this means your av receiver will take up the job and cross at 120hz.

if sub too hot u just turn down the volume control at the subwoofer. best at 9-10 o clock and also adjust the av receiver speaker settings so all speakers match sound level.

unless u are using satellite speakers 120hz is a bit high. thx standard is 80hz and if u are using small bookshelf speakers 100hz is very common. if u use refrigerator size speakers u may set at 50hz or 60hz. just a guideline.

your center speaker is 80hz to 20khz. with your receiver set up try with setting speakers as small and crossover at 80hz or 100hz. regarding sub. make sure crossover set at maximum and volume level at about 9 to 10 o'clock. then calibrate the sub level with your spl meter. if other speakers have been calibrated at 75db then the sub should be about 72db as the spl meter is insensitive to low bass so the 72db as adjusted will be equivalent to 75db.

too hot subwoofer will overwhelm the dialogue from center speaker.

i feel that the av amp power is not enough.
i used 2308 and 3007 now. that is a different world.
it cannot set up to solve

Is your center speaker firing directly towards the audience? It does make a difference.

Have you checked the high-pass crossover setting for the center channel? If your center speaker is small and the crossover is set too low, the lack of mid-bass may sound "weak".

If all else seems OK, it won't hurt to kick up the center level a dB or two.
