I have been an owner of the Cortese for 3 years and the phono is sublime - even with stock tubes it kicked my old Convergent into touch - not even close. Now with my front ever increasing with refinement, the Cortese just keeps giving it. No need for step ups ! give it anything, you will be suprised even how the cheapest carts on the market can really sound like the Denon 103R - currently running in a Denon 102 - sounds superb as well !

It is a shame that Supratek has stopped business as I am a big fan, so much my friend Scallywag also bought the full pre power combo 3 months before Supratek called it a day.

If there is one item I must keep in my hi fi it has to be the Cortese, everything else can be replaced - that's if you are a vinyl man .

what is the special of using 用牛輸出?
站在用家立場，用牛做coupling 和電容coupling 的pre-amp沒有多大分別，亦不能說牛coupling pre-amp比電容coupling 的pre-amp好聲，只是電路設計不一樣。但用牛coupling 的pre-amp ，輸出阻抗會較電容coupling低，較容易匹配後級。

Isn't all Tube amp using output transformer?
如果你說 Tube power amp，無錯，市面上Tube power amp 電路搕j部份都是用 Pull push 或 Single end 設計，必須使用牛做輸出，除非是OTL 設計的Power amp 才不用牛。

我自己亦把 Supratek Cortese和Audio Note M6 比較過，二款都是用牛輸出，音質二款可以說是同level, 而且Cortese 可以透過換整流膽，6SN7及Hi-Lo gain 較聲，變化比較多！ Audio Note M6賣 HK$80K , Cortese沒停產前全新連運費要 HK$43K而且連MC phono (不過leadtime要3個月)， 所以Cortese 非常底玩！

昨日去佐敦 Peter hing 買膽，見到有一部 Jarrah wood/Black Cortese 連 Phono amp放售，好新淨又靚仔。

剛路過，插句咀，我亦是Cortese 用家，無可否認，USD5000一部 Cortese with phono 的而且確是very best buy, C/P極高！同價錢廠機很難有對手！Supratek 暫不再生產的確可惜！

現在的Supratek在Audiogon很貴,以前CHENIN全新都係USD2900,現在二手都買USD2800.

真係絕辨值錢D!

Sorry to hear this. I am an user of their latest version of Cortese (with a phono gain stage). It is an amazing preamp with the right tubes. Besides, this is one of the few phono+line preamp that has a remote volume control and sound nice. I have been impressed what the Cortese and a 20W 845 amp can put out in bass on my Wilson Benesch Act 1 and now the JMR Studio 4.

Can see why they go out of business. They did not commercialize the production to reach critical mass. Point to point soldering kills them on cost when done in Australia.

Well, Supratek owners enjoy what you have. These preamps (not sure about amps) are built to last a lifetime.
