Any experience with a DUAL 1229 ? I started to be interested in it, a fully automatic TT, Idler drive (not direct drive that I don't like).

It is quite a typical German engineering with quite a bit of effective optimization

Talking about DUAL 505-2 and 510 belt-driven turntables. The original plinth of 505-2 is made of thin plastic, a very filmsy base from cheap mass production. Hold down our usual prejudice first... its bass never ulters resonance or vibrationary noise, even when I finger-knobed the bass! This filmsy plastic bass is from a miracle design!

510 belt-driven has a slightly more solid plinth, with a veener look, but is still filmsy plastic.

I love both DUALs.

What model is yours? Direct-driven has higher demand on the motor and electronic servo system to maintain spinning speed to be accurate. Therefore not as simple and easy to maintain as the belt-driven DUALs.

Both TT are from DUAL : 505-2 and 510. They have the same tonearm as seen, came with good working MM cartbridges (Audio Technica and Shure respectively) - only 60 each!

DAC from Hong Kong. Nice sounding!

終於入手一對更加匹配 TL12.1 的 mono 前級 - 無需再用 "苳菇頭" 藏一對電阻
降低 TL12.1 的超高靈敏度 (0.125V input for full output power)。

在家再聽point one, 愈來愈好。但是，由於左邊audio signal 是用電源線內的其中一條wire, 而右邊則用RCA 輸出audio signal, 好明顯右邊的RCA 的線材比較好，於是左右聲道不對稱，是否沒有辦法解決？還是更改point one 的 audio out，加多左聲道的RCA out?

那年代剛從 monologue進入 stereo 兩聲道的立體聲，英國設計師由沿用的「臍帶」embryonic cord 起步，但是沒有發燒到用兩條臍帶去一個 Point One Stereo。

古董嘅嘢唔好動不動就想改佢滿足發燒嘅動機，對於古董級嘅經典要尊重原設計，唔好「無啦啦搞達啦」。

嗰條臍帶要照顧6.3V AC電源，又要照顧近 300V DC電源，仲要照顧訊號微弱嘅全頻AC電流，出嚟嘅效果竟然係咁好，好好！冇爆炸，冇堪 hum，冇互相干擾，仲要在設定之下要低過 0.1 % 失真，天呀！推翻什麼「線材」理論，所以什麼 Silｘｘx 、Norｘｘｘ 、等等⋯⋯ 超級名貴線材都...(幾乎係騙局)。

LEAK Point One Stereo 每聲道用兩支五極EF86，有MM唱頭放大和Line放大，每級放大一支。最好的地方是它的低放大率配合 LEAK TL12.1 後級的高放大率 (0.125v for full output power) 絕配！它的ｐhono 級也是好好的。十分好味！不要略去！

由用 line amp，兩支EF86應該都夠

想請教下Point One Stereo，如果只係CD 部分，不用phono部分，都要插足4枝EF86嗎？

Benny 帶同他最近入手的美版精裝 LEAK Point One Stereo 前級來試聽及與我的普通親民版 Point One Stereo 作比較。兩者在音色表現方面其實十分相似因為就是相同的設計，少許分別在於生產期不同。
