- #1510 [hahayanyan], 24-05-16 21:09I love music daily
When I listen to music.. A phone, a pc, a radio is all I need... I care the content of a musical pieces..
When I listen to hifi.. I play hifi.. Haha I really enjoying my time with toys, not purely for music
In many of the case... Hifi is better than real.. As it is so unreal haha, hardly be real ..may be 5 yrs later..it can
I hate anything sound too sweet..
I enjoy 3D aspect of the reproduction.. Front to back, left to right.. Top to bottom kind of hifi effect from 2 channels...
Texture and image... Which are so unreal, and may be only able to get it from hifi.. Not even live sound.. Haha
Better hifi.. Better the bass.. Better the image, however cheap system at less than hkd20k.. Can produce phenomenonal stereo effect too
Right Bass decay is quite critical for sounding musical...i an play a bach 996...but never sound good...as i could not yet get the bass decay right haha
Same as playing an instrument.. Get the bad timing and touching for the bass right... That playing will surely more engagement and musical
I care speaker position super much, that is why a hkd20k system can have better stereo than a hld300k system when get things right
I always go for the look and lower cost. if it is a different but demanding very serious AB test.. The why play more?
Haha trust blind test too
I believe future.. Ditigal will be better, but not now
I believe single end is always better than push pull within a certain sizes of the room
Haha so much more...
For music a £20 radio I be happy...
For hifi. Am looking for toys factor
To get the sound. I like.. Tube is easier, and LP is much easier for me too
My type of sound.., something not rich in tone.... And right Timing

Interested if you mind sharing what your taste of sound type you prefered? For your passion of experiment spirit, would it be more on realistic/monitor sound type? Has it been changed after moving to a much relax nature UK? Just curious with a wild guess... haha~~ ;P
P.S. I used to enjoy the warm and passionate music from my old Italian classical Sonus Faber speaker and English QUAD amp (I still love that sound indeed), while I am enjoying the much neutral (though still a little bit warm side) combo of Vitus + Audio Physic now. :)

- #1498 [rcwy], 24-05-15 10:12Haha Hing,
You asked me a few open-ended, macro or micro, questions. If I would tell in details, I would have bored every one to death.
Sorry to say that I don't know your 'call sign' to know where to start this monologue.
My audio journey has started since the turn of the century into 2000. I needed a 800-sq-ft warehouse/workshop to accommodate my vast collections of audio gears, mostly vintage. I had visitors including some famous audiophiles you may name, I had pictures with them. That would be part of my Hong Kong remembrance.
My audio collection was a bit trimed down when I moved to a small domestic flat which was solely for the audio hobby after the turn of the decades into 2010's. In its 150-sq-ft sitting room, I entertained many friends with good music, to their satisfaction I hope, including some local audiophile legends you may name.
Since the turn of the decades into 2020's, the HK political atmosphere changed to 'patriotism' dominance, I moved part of my audio gears to the UK, in a country house. In a relatively larger home environment for audio, I re-started my audio journey.
Haha.. (a sound), I might be in a better position to comment on spacial effects on two-channel audio. People like to say 'a picture worths a thousand words' and hence I sum up in a small picture hereunder. But this saying is NOT true for home audio. It is hearing to believe (not seeing or talking to believe) in home audio.
Regards

do they require any modification to sound nice , reasonable definition, not sounding slow , not rolling off too soon..etc .or it is one of the vintage sound right even for more modern standard?
for a stereo set up, u prefer a stereo pre amp or using 2 mono ?
i never have a vintage set up, and my the most enjoyable listening experience was coming from a vintage set up with 2 mono fisher set up made to stereo with tannoy red
how's the tone/sound of your UK listening room ?
thx thx

I have a stereo version too... which sounds great and the phono is good. - #1495 [rcwy], 24-05-14 06:40
They are a pair LEAK "Point One Plus" mono preamps - originally to sell with the "Plus" mono power amps, e.g. TL12 Plus, TL25 Plus, TL50 Plus etc. They should have low output to match with the high input sensitivity of the "Plus" monoblocs.
I would use them to drive a pair of LEAK TL12 'Point One' mono power amps.

how you going to use with this pair of leak pre amp ? - #1493 [Springroll], 24-05-13 17:54rcwy 兄, GREAT for you!
我記得你上年都有去睇, very interesting HiFi sharing show! :D

Quite some.. :)
Most important to see quite some audiophile guys from Hong Kong. - 下一頁 (2 of 77)

音響線路 看似簡單, but fair more complex than control electronic haha 我嘅經驗係嚴重不足, 但係我唔怕醜去問
Hifi sound texture can sound right but hardly real...
Haha
