Am looking at nikon zf , which has a quick b&w setting and those b&w feeling close to my wish

And there are people ..also find out the recipe of that setting

All those things are so new to me..

Day day learning ..so happy

Am better than a dummy now, still a newbie..

B&W?

Very good! Having said that some argue with digital photography you could never get "true" B&W pictures unless you use dedicated digital cameras using no Bayer color filter array means direct capture of luminance (brightness) for true monochrome, resulting in sharper, more detailed images than color cameras converted to black & white.

However, we shouldn't be put off by this notion just because of this limitation.

As for lens....that's again opening up for your imagination. A simple saying..."They can all do it".........just some is more special.

BS, right? Kind of.

Some prefer some old vantage lenses especially for digital B&W because they simply give out the texture, contrast and colours????? the best close to true B&W films.

I have this 1930's Leica Summtar 5cm f2 lens which is so old, not even having coating, and scratchy that it will never give sharp pictures.

Nonetheless, I like the texture it produces.

The lens is cooapsible design. My new toy Voigt 50mm APO is copying this design.
