I am thinking of ordering a pair of RA LS3/5A from the UK. Could you advise me :
(a) why you order this one as I understand there is one more supplier in the UK, this one is better or cheaper?
(b) someone told me that I could get a 10% discount if I were a member of the LS3/5a club, is that ture?
(c) could you figure out if the RA model is the same as the old ones like Roger and KEF?
(d) what is the total cost? I mean the price of the speaker and the shipping charge.

Of course. I remembered you. Your Richard Allan make my dream came true. I had all LS3/5A with complete names at my home on that day. I am still thinking. It is a pity the postal fee is too high. Moreover, I started to buy some tube amps.

a) As RA said, KEF supply speaker unit to RA only, so I ordered it from RA.
b) RA didnt offer me any discount last year.
c) I think you better ask John (Gingers) cox he is an expert of LS3/5A and I m just a newbie.
d) I ordered my pair last year summer and the total cost is HKD7905, including everything.

I am using Rogers 3/5a for just one year only. I found that its sound is improving gradually. May be it is because my tube amp is gradually being "run in".

I love its sound very much.

I have no golden ears. They all sound similar to me. But our expert Tim perfers to the 15 ohms version.

My pair sounds suck and it need long time to run-in. Personally I like the pair your modified (sorry I forgot the brand name).

I am using JR149, Roger 11ohm

btw, ushed by 2x EL34, it make me sit down and listen to music

Like a United Union. This pair is a Chartwell modified. The crossover and all the drive units are from a old pair Chartwell. The baffle and the cabinet black ash finish came from Stirling. The grilles are Harbeth.
Personally I like this pair because I gave them second life. :P

I did not use tube amp for my LS3/5A collection before. The last solid state AMP I used was Krell 250 A & P. Did you try tube amp before? Please share your experience.
Personally, I like KT66 tube most. I have a fat body like the shape of a KT66.
When I bought my fist Rogers LS3/5A, I did have a el84 shape. :P
