- #41 [taimonsing], 19-08-18 15:52without him, I even won't touch any vinyl record, haha
- #42 [fotheringay], 19-08-18 17:06He has one more important talent above the Lenco business to me:
COOKING!!! - #43 [fotheringay], 19-10-06 01:10Sing,
You were just one step ahead of me with the Decca cart!!

- #44 [charlie], 20-01-26 13:09had time to give my GL72 is a good spring clean. Nice and cute bearings as compared to the GL75
- #45 [charlie], 20-01-26 13:13GL72 has the same motor as its siblings

I also have a GL72, alongside my other GL75 and GL78.
I made a little adjustment to the GL72 as well. The four springs should be put inside the wooden plinth but I have now placed them between the platter and the plinth. The original position was too rigid to my liking and I wonder what would the sound differ after the modification. It changed the shock absorption performance slightly better in my opinion. The sound is now more colourful and open. It could be just psychological.
I also clean the bearing and put in some new grease.
I painted the arm and the plinth with some hammerite metal paint. It is nothing more than just to please my own visual desire. The wood works have been slightly sand and put on with new wood varnish and gloss lacquer paint.
It is now used as my main mono playback with a Denon DL-102.

- #49 [charlie], 20-03-23 11:58when i have more free time i'll definitely add some stuff to dampen the GL72 platter. Perhaps, some thick rubber belts around the outer rim or something to stick on the underside but away from the idler wheel.
- #50 [leung.tan], 20-04-17 21:27Hi all :)
I just bought a GL75 and found that missing this part (white circle). Where can have I get a new one in HK? Or can replace with sth in same weight ? Many thx This is my first turntable xddd - #51 [fotheringay], 20-04-18 00:50To be honest with you I never bother using this anti-skating weight.
If you must you can buy a new one either original Lenco, or any replacements. It weights 3 grams. - #52 [leung.tan], 20-04-18 01:58#51 I thought it was a necessary to have this for well balanced. :p
then I may find sth weight 3g and hook on it thx - #53 [fotheringay], 20-04-18 04:11I have more information about this anti-skating weight.
L75 come with two weights, one is 1g and is for 0.75-1.5g tracking forces. Another one is 4g and is for 1.5g-5g tracking forces. It was my typo for 3g.
I never have two weights with L75's and L78 as I mentioned I never bother to use them.
A-S is there to prevent 'inner groove distortion' as you probably know, if you test whether you are getting any of this or not it may help you decide - plenty of info on this on the net.
I think the more important aspect of this arm is the V-Block. Again, plenty information on the net. - #54 [hahayanyan], 20-08-24 23:37suddenly wanna get a lencooooooooooooooooo
- #55 [009terry], 20-08-26 11:58#50
+ double platter.
Hi Chi
2020-08-26 11:59:53 - #56 [hahayanyan], 20-08-26 12:05i am so new for lenco: the " double platter" sound so new to me
and buddy want me to a copper Mat at 5mm thick for his lenco, which weight a ton, but i need to double check the motor parameters to ensure it does not hurt the motor too much...
- #58 [hahayanyan], 20-08-26 12:52Terry
找一個方案,add a long spindle
from some reading, it seem make sense to avoid using an Spindle extension too, which means the platter will be thicker than 5mm, or find a way to decouple the original spindle with the new spindle
找一個方案升高唱臂,or even change the tonearm
i need to taken care of those few things for my lenco buddy haha
And I am reading this thread too https://www.lencoheaven.net/forum/index.php?topic=20356.15
fro me, i want to have an idler table, and it make a lot of sense it is a lenco ,as the user group is huge and much more fun, i also looking at Russco Studio-Pro because of the look , and price seem good for such table too
seem fun
2020-08-26 13:07:04 - #59 [charlie], 20-08-26 13:50Hi Terry, i'm good, hope the same for you!
guys, most Lenco users would have changed to a different plinth (slate or Constrained Layer Damping/CLD and so you can use all sorts of tonearms. Double platter is better but you can decide on this yourself. Original spindle can hold the weight. Just have to buy a spare platter somewhere and a spindle extension from forum members and/or eBay. A Malaysia member makes spindle bearing for Garrard and Lenco at good price and excellent quality. Frankly, the only Lenco parts I use from the original is the motor and idler mechanism. I even have a speed controller for it too. - #60 [hahayanyan], 20-08-26 13:58charlie
thx you, happy to share some info about the "speed controller" to a newbie? i do know some small things about making a ESC
sound interesting for all those things u mentioned
is it a 2 phase AC motor ?
