Will share my comment later. -
- #309 [hnm], 22-04-04 17:12I’m using a speed controller with my Garrard 401, and it sounds more calm than without.
The speed controller supplies specific mains frequency to control motor speed, so that the magnetic brake in the turntable to fine-tune speed can be bypassed altogether. Think that makes a difference.
Also you can adjust the voltage on the speed controller to minimise excessive motor torque. - #308 [charlie], 22-04-04 16:42what did you get? Let me take a guess, the LDA brand?
- #307 [uat506], 22-04-04 16:31Charlie hing, Yes I would thought so in regards to speed controller helps, as I did ordered one and give a try with my Garrard 301 & Lenco. Its on its way ETA in a week or 2. :)
- #306 [charlie], 22-04-03 10:21[#303] Hi UAT506,
many friends with 401, 301, Lenco, RCA and Russco have used a speed controller with good results.
Maybe we are have dirty AC at home/work...haha.
There are quite a few brands...including Garrards - #305 [hahayanyan], 22-04-02 17:46uat06

And jsut finish a piece of wood sandwich between the cartridge and the lenco headshell..
Haha - #299 [fotheringay], 22-03-05 16:18Do you still keep the red transportation bolt attached with the motor?
- #298 [hahayanyan], 22-03-04 17:52Layers...
Haha
每一層都為我打發了一些無聊嘅時間
Technically 9 layers
Haha
Haha - #297 [hahayanyan], 22-03-04 17:19Couple. Of observation.. seem mechanical
Last time I checked the coil took it apart was about 18months..ago..
When it has no funny noise.. It so smooth.. Haha when it has funny noise.. It also so smooth..
May be it is a combination of spring lose a little bit of tension to push up and idler getting hard. As too old.. And idler arm angle not too ideal..
Looked at that wave.. Rotation seem quite smooth too.. And consistent - #296 [fotheringay], 22-03-04 17:11Have you checked the motor coil?
- #295 [hahayanyan], 22-03-04 16:36Is a bottom contact pad. .. For the chassis.. Haha
- #294 [hahayanyan], 22-03-04 14:34The my motor do not vibrate much at all
But seem once a hour or less.. It star t to have some funny noise from the system.. And then I give that motor mount some massages.. Haha then the funny noise does away..
Something may lose thsoe alignment.. Etc.. Not sure yet.
Haha - #293 [charlie], 22-03-04 14:27Should be fastened tightly. if the spring makes any sound then your motor is vibrating or oscillating but surely that’s not case!
