I'm looking for 2nd hand CS300XS.
If no one sells, then I will go to buy a new one by the end of this month.

- #88 [avdirect], 11-12-02 10:31How much is it in Japan for CS300XS? I know it is 110V, but only for reference.
- #90 [agentsmittie], 11-12-02 11:53Agree with mahi. 300 is a very nice mini amp that is excellent for bedroom systems. In fact, it is known in head-fi as an excellent headphone amp.
- #91 [Rosenbloom], 11-12-03 12:07Hi, all c hings,
Indeed I am choosing between CS300XS and CS600. I also need to buy a pair of speakers. My plan is... If I buy 300, then I shall probably buy JBL 4312D. If I buy 600, then I shall buy Harbeth C7 or SHL5 or Spendor A9.
My HiFi room is about 10' x 16'. Mostly listen to classical music (all kinds). And, I don't like 爆機. I love listening music in mild and decent volume level.
Not sure whether CS300XS + JBL 4312D already meets my expectation. If yes, then I could save the money for buying more CDs. =) - #92 [audio_retriever], 11-12-03 13:06When I firstly noticed the brand Leben from Taiwan machine,I was excited to know how it sounds since the price in HK$ was just around 15k only, with an attractive looking chassis too! There are no dealers in HK selling this brand at the time.
I'm not sure how much for this machine now in HK, but it seems 2nd hand was more expensive now! - #93 [Rosenbloom], 11-12-03 13:13I asked the shop in MK basement two weeks ago. Their first quotation was CS300XS $23000, CS600 $38000!
I must say these are CRAZY prices!!!
But I also learned from a ching that, if we bargain and bargain with that shop, CS300XS can be under $20000.
2011-12-03 13:14:20 - #94 [mahi], 11-12-03 13:18rosenbloom, in your case c7 would be the easiest to place in your room and to drive with a small amp like 300xs. i quite doubt 4312d as a classical music speaker (vs harbeth). i think harbeth plays better too in low volume.
but as in all things hifi, the most important thing is fulfillment of your own enjoyment. others' view isn't too relevant in a lot of times. there is no fixed formula to audio nirvana.
have fun! - #95 [Rosenbloom], 11-12-03 15:25Thanks mahi hing =)
I have not auditioned JBL speakers myself. I'll take your advice into consideration in full!
I used to have P3ESR (but sold). I love the Harbeth sound. Um.... C7+300xs. I agree that this combo should be good.
- #97 [bigdish], 12-07-15 09:13I have just bought a Leben CS300, and am now looking for a pair of speakers. Which of the following do you think is the best match?
1. Coincident Triumph Extreme II
2. Harbeth P3SER
3. Reference 3A MM de Capo i
4. Zu Audio Omen Bookshelf
Remarks: All the above speakers are over 90 dB except Harbeth P3SER
Thank you in advance for your kind comments - #98 [doctorjohn], 12-07-15 09:28
imho if cost is not a concern Reference 3A is good.
Think also Vienna Acoustics Haydn Grand, not difficult to drive.
Something I wrote about the Leben RS28 and Haydn Grand:

I'll try to arrange an audition of MM de Capo i.
Any comments about Harbeth P3SER and Coincident Triumph Extreme II?
I read good comments about the Triumph Extreme II.
Thx. - #100 [smiu.], 12-07-18 14:29China made?

mahi, nice report.
The difference between passive volume and an active one indeed big.
