兩週前我發現有位同事跟我一樣，從不跳過美劇《末日地堡》（Silo）的片頭主題曲。（不過，另一位同事倒是會跳過。）

無論如何，雖然我一直都很喜歡《末日地堡》(Silo) 的主題曲，但我以前從未在 Tidal 上播放過——直到現在。

我透過 Lumin P1 Mini 和 X2 在 Tidal 上聆聽了第三季的主題曲，音質聽起來比影片版本好太多了。這並不是apple to aple comparison（經由 Lumin X2 播放的 48kHz 無損立體聲，對比經由 AV 環繞擴大機輸出至同一台 Lumin AMP 和同一組喇叭的 48kHz Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 混音，而且 2.0 與 5.1 的混音本質上必然有所不同）。

[題外話] 《末日地堡》是我看過整體表現最好的反烏托邦科幻劇（我也很喜歡《Westworld》第一季，但它最終被取消了）。看完《末日地堡》第三季第 9 集後，這部劇徹底勾起了我的好奇心，甚至讓我忍不住去維基百科查閱原著小說後續發展的劇情劇透。儘管我已經知道了真相的核心，但在觀看第三季完結篇時，依然感到非常震撼。

在這裏回答一下音響展收到的題問，當時未能完整回答:

1. LUMIN 展覽 McIntosh C12000 前級是設定在solid state mode還是tube mode: 答案是 Solid state mode. 在最後一天最後一小時我們嘗試改成為膽機狀態。 我個人比較喜愛solid state mode 因為近似我聽慣的石機風格。我的同事喜愛膽機設置，聽感比較柔和。兩個都好。有得選擇是一個非常好的設計。

2. 使用 Oppo（5G）router, LUMIN app 找不到 LUMIN 機。這代表路由器沒有正確地處理multicast packet. 解決方法是連接一台 WiFi access point （可以用一台香港或國際版 TP-link router設定為access point mode），並關閉 oppo router的 WiFi 。LUMIN 機連接 Access point. 手機及平板通過 WiFi 連接access point 。


另一個方法是把sim卡取出 (如果可以的話) 放到另一台 router 例如國際版或香港版的 TP-link, 取代oppo。

今年會場的 WiFi 環境改變了，對我們構成意想不到的影響。我們早前在美國音響展順利使用的 WiFi router在灣仔6號設置日測試無問題，但7號開放公眾第一天表現很表現不正常。我們立刻準備了另一台不同的router。所以今年都盡量不用（流動網絡）互聯網串流。

我在7號去參觀了某重要串流機品牌，在播 #1843 post 的曲目。突然發現音樂窒及停頓。走上前看看原來在播放Tidal。在不是使用固定寬頻的展覽環境下做internet streaming本來就是一場賭博。這個基於環境影響有點不幸。

有趣的是跟住我走過去對面個攤檔，竟然都是在播同一首歌（應該不是Tidal). 嘩，播放效果非常好。我回到公司後要認真在公司試聽一下公司的喇叭究竟能不能出到這個效果。話說回頭我之前唔知道原來呢首歌咁hit。我第一次接觸這首歌是有客人email來詢問相關的測試。我第二次見到這首歌是spotify無損推出時最早期有24bit的極少數歌之一。（現在已經多一點）

Perhaps the limiting factor, is still in RTHK, streaming just to 64kbps, quality far from other channels in FLAC.

今天收到顧客投訴用 Lumin 聽 RTHK 網絡電台比起 RTHK app 音質差。

逆向研究了網頁中的live播放, 發現原來 RTHK 有不同的streaming url ，和源用了很多年的標準網絡電台 url 不同。無論在格式（AAC) ，採樣率，及 bitrate 都有提升。

已經即時更新。

有聽開 RTHK 的用戶可以在 Lumin app 中按Update radio channels, 如果播放時仍然看不到 AAC 顯示，請重啟Lumin硬件。

Can I power off the Lumin D2 and restart it, to get rid of the hanging problem of the firmware upgrade?

I have a Lumin D2, the Lumin iOS app asks for a firmware upgrade to release 23, I proceed to the upgrade, but the Lumin D2 is still showing "Upgrading..." after 15min.

I close the Lumin app, and restart again, but cannot find the D2.

Lumin Firmware 23 已新增 Volume Levelling 功能，並將逐步推送到所有型號。對於配備 X2 內置 DAC 或內置 ESS DAC 的型號（包括：P 系列、X1、T3X、T3、T2、D3、S1），其 Volume Levelling 輸出均為無損（Lossless）。

此功能適用於：
Lumin App 播放含有 Replay Gain tag 標籤的本地 FLAC 檔案
Lumin App 播放 Tidal
Lumin App 播放 Qobuz
Lumin App 播放 Amazon Music
Plex 播放至 Lumin 硬體設備

技術原理與優勢

無損 Volume Levelling 的概念非常簡單——它直接讀取來自 FLAC tag 標籤、Tidal、Qobuz、Amazon Music 或 Plex 的 Replay Gain Metadata，並以此來調整設備內置的前級/DAC 音量，而不是在將音樂訊號送入內置 DAC 之前進行數位修改。

注意： 這項功能需要配備內置 DAC 的 Lumin 串流播放機來進行 analog 類比輸出。如果您先前一直習慣使用 Lumin App 來手動為不同曲目調整 Lumin 的音量，那麼這項功能就等同於由 Lumin Firmware 自動為您完成這項操作。

據我所知，目前市面上還沒有看到其他商業串流播放機能實現這一點。即便有其他廠商做到了，他們也未曾宣傳自己 Volume Levelling 保持 Bit-perfect 傳輸至 DAC 。

如何啟用與設定

此功能預設為關閉。如需啟用，請使用最新版本的 Lumin App 將「Volume Levelling）」設定為「Normal」（正常）。

與 Roon 進行對比：
若要與 Roon 進行對比測試，請將 Roon 的音量平衡設定為 -14 LUFS，並將未知響度的調整設定為 -5 dB。（然而，對於某些曲目和部分串流平台，Roon 的音量平衡調整值與 Tidal / Qobuz 提供給 Lumin 的 Replay Gain metadata 之間仍可能存在較大差異。因此，很遺憾這並不總是完全對等的對比。）

如果您將 Lumin 的音量平衡設定為「Quiet」，它將調整為 -19 LUFS，以匹配 Spotify 的安靜模式設定。

Plex 使用者須知：
如果您使用 Plex，還必須前往 Plex 伺服器的媒體庫（Library）設定中，開啟 Analyze audio tracks for loudness 功能。

Spotify 功能升級
在韌體版本 23 之前，Lumin 的「Spotify Audio Normalization」使用的是標準 Spotify SDK。而在全新的 Firmware 23 中，該功能已被基於 Leedh Processing Volume 的 Lumin 專有技術所取代，因此整體音質表現將會提升。

Lumin Firmware 23 includes Volume Levelling. It will gradually be released to all models. Volume leveling output is lossless to X2 internal DAC or internal ESS DAC: P-series X1 T3X T3 T2 D3 S1.

It works on:

Lumin app playback of local FLAC files that have replay gain tag(s)

Lumin app playback of Tidal

Lumin app playback of Qobuz

Lumin app playback of Amazon Music

Plex playback to Lumin hardware

The lossless volume levelling concept is simple - take the Replay Gain metadata from FLAC tag / Tidal / Qobuz / Amazon Music / Plex and adjust the built-in preamp/DAC volume, instead of digitally manipulating the music before feeding the built-in DAC. This requires a streamer with built-in DAC for analog output. If you have been using Lumin app to control the Lumin volume for different tracks, then this feature works exactly like Lumin firmware automatically doing this for you.

As far as I'm aware, I don't see any commercial streamer achieving this. Or if someone did it, they did not publicize the care they made to maintain bit perfectness to the DAC.

This feature is disabled by default. To enable it, use the latest Lumin app to set Volume Levelling to Normal. To compare against Roon, please set Roon Volume Leveling to -14 LUFS with adjustment for unknown loudness -5 dB. (However, for some tracks and some services there will be a greater difference between the Roon volume levelling adjustment and Tidal / Qobuz replay gain metadata provided to Lumin. So this is unfortunately not always an apple to apple comparison.)

If you set Lumin Volume Levelling to Quiet, it will be -19 LUFS to match Spotify Quiet setting.

If you use Plex, you also need to turn on Analyze audio tracks for loudness in Plex Server Library settings.

Before Firmware 23, Lumin had standard Spotify SDK in its Spotify Audio Normalization feature. In Firmware 23, this feature is replaced by a Lumin proprietary implementation based on Leedh Processing Volume, so it should sound better.

1. Please use AirPlay from iPad to play Apple Music to Lumin.

Or

2. If you have Lumin P-series, you may use a USB type C to type B printer cable to connect a modern iPad to Lumin USB type B port.

May I know any solution can play Apple Music streaming at Lumin? or it is waiting Lumin partner with Apple Music?

今朝一早Tidal app有新update，做完後與Lumin app即時回復同步正常，原來係Tidal嘅問題！

今個星期發現用Tidal app add完嘅歌或者Ablum，開T3x唔識得同步返出嚟，之前未試過咁樣，KKBox就無事，手機在戶外add完歌，回家開T3x就立即load返晒出嚟 -_-
