- #186 [fotheringay], 19-11-14 20:28There is a Lenco forum Lencoheaven.net and if you are interested in getting more information there will be plentiful.
Some may know Daiwok and he is the HK administrator for Lencoheaven. - #185 [iloveu], 19-11-14 20:15.

- #183 [BenYC], 19-11-14 19:55My days of vinyl is over but I am still tempted to get a 401 just in case if I see a good price. This kinds of idea keep me browsing the ebay every nite and ends up with more unplanned impulsive trash buying. I guess I really have nothing better to do and I need lots of distractions these days....

Some also comment that used Lenco 75 is a budget performer and it’s much better than Pro-ject RPM series. - #181 [fotheringay], 19-11-14 17:14Ben,
I guess "honesty" means "netural". What goes in will be what coming out. That's a good standard for a transcript deck.
You are right that the headshell will shift horizontally with the second arm tube. The flat aluminum armature is a little bit like a half 工字鐵 so slightly rigid but not enough to solve the resonance issue.
Three is a company making those articulated headshell with similar tracking idea. I haven't tried one but love to know the result. Mind you £300+ for one so it is not cheap.
- #179 [BenYC], 19-11-14 10:56#176
Nice. - #178 [BenYC], 19-11-14 10:30#175
Very interesting arm. Does the headshell rotate a bit while playing to compensate? Never knew this kind of arm exists. Yet it get me clueless why the arm is a flat metal. Can flex and absorb the vibration... May not be a good thing.
Never knew garrard was so innovative.
By the way I like 301 and 401 for their honesty. I guess such discription does not make much sense. (I am currently using a technics sp10. It is honest too but cannot say I like the look or size of it.)

- #176 [addyg], 19-11-14 07:56Luckily I have a Garrard idler turntable too.

Ah, Garrard 301 and 401!! They are as good as you can get from transcription turntables though many may disagree otherwise.
Though I have a few idler wheels decks I am never interested in 301 or 401. Now even getting out of my reach as their prices are rocketing. I think HK-68 does a good job in supplying some exotic plinths for them.
I do have a Garrard and it is a Zero 100s.
I got it just for curiosity because of the tonearm used in this deck. The most attractive feature of the Garrard Zero 100 , from which its name comes from, is the fancy arm: a parallel zero tracking error arm. The arm allows the pick-up to track always tangentially to the grooves. The headshell is free to rotate around the two parallel arms in a way that it always remains in the same position.
It could be a fantastic deck due to the design. But it is not because the materials used didn't match up the idea and it didn't light up the world at the end. - #174 [BenYC], 19-11-14 02:59Thanks for the explanation re armboard. I guess I deleted my message too slow as once I re-read your message, I then noted it is a floating turntable. Then it will be a different ball game.
I always like turntables that are driven directly by motors. Kind of like the dynamics and rawness that this kind of tables usually give.
My dream table is Garrard 401. I heard the 301 and was very impressed by it. A very reliable friend told me 401 is even better but underrated due to its look. Anyway, i researched a bit and noted it is not a table for me as too much TLC is needed to get it running properly. If I have your kind of skill, I would definitely jump into it.
These days, I am quite into Katie Melua songs (yes some can be cheesy) recommended by spotify. She is of coz famous and have been around for years but I just never had the chance to bump into her songs. Order some of her cds and anxiously waiting. - #173 [fotheringay], 19-11-14 02:00
