What horn咀 is your use?
I am not useing 電分,but interested !

are you connect dg38 with df-35 with hs-link or coaxial? -
- #64 [e679], 10-03-20 09:31My horn was made by Classic Audio Reproduction in USA. Back then, there was no Taiwan Replica and I couldn't find a TAD horn.

With coaxial. - #66 [batmanames04], 10-03-20 09:45my setup
cd or sacd player with pre amp don-morrisn analog to benchmark adc1 24/96khz digital to deq ulltra curve and 24/96 digital to df-35
this is better way using accuphase dc-330 for volume control
may be youcaneasilyget the tad horn in japan - #67 [e679], 10-03-20 10:12DC-330 is too expensive.
Did anyone has experience with TACT?
I am thinking using TACT as digital pre/EQ. Using 24/192 to DF-35. But I don't know if it can handle 24/176 signal. If yes, maybe i can get a Linn DS.
I tried in Japan but no luck. Anyway, I have no complain with the pair I am using. - #68 [batmanames04], 10-03-20 11:17i think accuphase engineers prefer using analog preamp like c2810 and then convert it back to digital by adc inside dg 38 or 48
they demonstrate this technique every year in tokyo audio show (better than using dc330 - #69 [e679], 10-03-20 12:43but theoretically doing d/a preamp a/d d/a again cause degradation and unnecessary.
- #70 [batmanames04], 10-03-20 16:06i think the same as you before
but all digital pre-amp (without a to d conversion) control the volume by lost the least significant bit in order to lower down the volume.
in this way will lost the resolution. - #71 [batmanames04], 10-03-20 16:25tradeoff between AtoD resoltion and lost bitin digital domain
- #72 [e679], 10-03-20 20:34Yes, you right.
But I thought lost bit happens only using potentiometer on digital path.
Digital volume control would be fine. like our EQs
- #73 [ackcheng], 10-03-20 20:53Digital volumecontrol can be done in a much better way with 64 or even 80 bit processing and dithering than bit shifting alone.
- #74 [batmanames04], 10-03-20 23:29lets say a simple example binary no 1100 equal to 12 amplify to 15 = 1111
i think it is more easy implement by low noise amp rather than manage the bit by shifting and dithering etc dsp means
dsp is very good using fir tap filter doing equalizing function rather than amplifiation
may be the reason why accuphase no longer produce digital pre amp after dc330
typically their reference setup always amplify the signal first by analog pre-amp c2810 and then change back to digital signal by a to d converter - #75 [e679], 10-03-21 10:44Thanks for sharing! Very interesting!
Well I guess I have to wait for more advance technology if going for full digital path. - #76 [ackcheng], 10-03-21 11:00I thought you are talking about attenuation digitally? Adding gain is not the strength digitally
- #77 [batmanames04], 10-03-21 11:43not sure for attenuation.
as you know from cd player analog output around 2V
1 use resistype pre-amp adding noise figure for different attenuation
2 analog pre-amp depend on noise figure
vs
attenuaiton using digital method like bit shifting and dithering. ( personally i think this method not only attenaiton and shape of the analog wave change)
but from listening experience i prefer in front end doing attenuaiton analoglly - #78 [linda.0416], 10-03-22 10:08e679 batmanames04 hing
請問兩位電分高手,以往對金仔嘅模擬電分eg:F-15 F-25 F-25V.....等,有冇一d經驗可以分享下呢?
金仔嘅模擬電分與數碼電分在音質上如何比較呢?
最後修改時間: 2010-03-22 10:28:08 - #79 [batmanames04], 10-03-22 10:19i have used 5 and 15 with g18
quite different sound between analog and digital crossover
depend on your taste
analog 5 and 15 better for listening fast transistent music like drum because impulse respnse of analog electronic crossover better
but digital crossover can adust time delay and phase of each driver more easily - #80 [e679], 10-03-23 21:51linda.0416 hing,
I have only try f-15V. However, i have difference opinion than Batmanames04 hing.
To be fair, I must say the crossover card of f-15v I was using was not ideal (about 150hz too high), Invert phase is also not better than time delay. It can't cut very steep and Its age may also be a factor.
my experience is f-15v is soft, less definition and less dynamic. Maybe b'cuz of the crossover point(don't get me wrong, it is better than stock CL crossover)
Furthermore, It has lost to a diy passive crossover (but it cost around $10,000 in parts).
I have way better result with Df-35 in all area.
However, judge by the design and reputation, I believe F-25v is very close to Df-35 except those functions.
If I were you, I wouldn't care too much about the sound texture as there are many other area to adjust the texture once you go active. Try to look for better soundstage and definition.
Hope they help and have fun.

I personally believe df-45 sound little lighter. But it is still very good.
I am using TAD 1601b, 4001, JBL 077 and Et-703.
Is that 1601a or b in your system? what enclosure are you using? Can you tell me more about it?
Thx
