Just saying, black screws to fix the driver, gold screws even better. - #2981 [fotheringay], 22-03-27 18:56
One more song from the same CD.

This is the correct Ken Poon's Binaural recording.
Also a Cantonese song. - #2979 [fotheringay], 22-03-26 21:37I have just now added some feet with the Tannoy.
Nothing fanciful but just some oak drawer knobs bought from the local "Five-metal-shop". They cosy 80p each as they match with the church oak wood stain I have chosen for the cabinet.

So far I only used the deafening materials inside the box as I want to experiment different stages of damping result.
I did order some real jacob sheep wool and I am surprised how cheap they are. Once both speakers up and running then I have true picture of performing and knowing if in need of more damping.
This was the CD I bought from Fever Sound Audio Fair on my holiday back in HK. It was Ken Poon's Binaural recording and selection of different music. - #2977 [fotheringay], 22-03-26 20:10
Rover,
It's a slow process as I only have certain amount of time allowing me to carry out work.
So far I manage to make one that is able to sing. As usual I can't wait so even may be just having one I still want to make her a maiden voyage.
I was using some old parts which scattering in the garage for years, like this pair of WBT speaker terminals.
The top and bottom wood panels were taken from unused French doors in the garden. I just sand them and put some teak oil.

- #2975 [fotheringay], 22-03-24 06:38More padding inside.
- #2974 [fotheringay], 22-03-24 01:23The look from inside.
最後修改時間: 2022-03-24 01:23:26 - #2973 [fotheringay], 22-03-24 01:20The sound-deafening stuff is from a car dealer who recommends it. He said it would do both reducing the resonances and stiffen the wood.
Really???? But I thought it is not too expensive so let's have a go.
I have a pair of WBT Speaker terminals which has been stored for years and I think it is time get them out.
最後修改時間: 2022-03-24 01:22:02 - #2972 [fotheringay], 22-03-24 01:15Good weather today so more work.
Using the router to make a hole of the rolloff control and it is easy enough.
I put more panels attached to reduce further resonances before putting the sound-deafening materials.

The crossover will be mounted on the back panel as the original design.
Next job will be putting more braces to reduce resonances inside the box. - #2970 [rover901], 22-03-22 20:35How about the crossover?
- #2969 [fotheringay], 22-03-21 14:59Finally decided to choose the original design of DC unit recessed inside the box.

Here we go.

很久沒有kc 兄的消息了…… - #2965 [fotheringay], 22-03-18 22:58I haven't used the router for a long time so a little bit rusty, especially when cutting mortises which went off a little bit!
Nextn jobs would be sanding down to smoother surface and inserting the deafening material inside the box.
Who would like a pancake? Ha..ha...

Thanks and indeed gold bolts have been ordered. It does make a difference.
I thought just being casual with stainless steel but sadly it didn’t look the part.
