TKS ! - #30 [herb], 03-09-09 18:21Anyone using TAOC TITE 25A spike disc? Why is it so expensive compare to other TAOC spike disc?
- #31 [鵝], 05-08-23 22:21I want to understand more about the function for 喇叭釘. If it's mainly for absorbing the vibration, can we simply use plastic footer to absort vibration? There must be some reason. Pls kindly explain.
Also, some people place a piece of "brick" or metal coin under each 喇叭釘. What is the function of that? Stronger bass?
Thanks. - #32 [petery], 05-08-23 22:37喇叭釘 are for sound tuning. Using different material of 喇叭釘 will cause different vibration effect and thus varies the sonic effect. Some may find the base more tight or extension in high is more extended ....
You really need time to listen and in other words - trial and error. To my experience, no particular brand name is superior than others. The material should match your speaker stand and speakers. - #33 [Kenny], 05-08-24 08:31A speaker spike has a tip so that all the weight can be on it (for example, if your speaker is 10 kg, and the base dimension is 10 in x 10 in, so that the pressure onto the ground is 0.1 kg/sq in, but if it has 4 spikes/tips which each has an area of 0.01 sq inch, then the pressure on each tip is then 250 kg/sq inch). This would help the speaker stablize and minimize vibrations.
05-08-24 13:04Thanks, Petery and Kenny,
Is there any general rule about 釘腳 to follow? Such as what material will improve bass, what improve treble, what improve soundstage, etc?

- #37 [Kenny], 05-08-25 09:08Spike/Spike plate would improve your speaker's cabinet resonance so whether it improves the bass or treble depends on your speaker. But in general, it would improve bass and make it tighter (image a singer if she/he sings better on a moving bus or solid ground). Best is you read your speaker manual and see what the manufacturer recommends. For example, if yours is a bookshelf speaker, they would recommends a solid stand + blutack. Another benefit is spike/spike plate can add 4 inches of height to the speaker, which may improve imaging.
- #38 [鵝], 05-08-25 09:43Kenny, thanks. how about floor standing speakers? What should we put under the spike (i.e. between the spike, which attached to the bottom of speaker, and the floor)? I saw someone use coin and some use 麻石 ? What's the difference? Thanks.
- #39 [Kenny], 05-08-25 10:10If your speaker is made for spikes, ie, it has screw holes, then you should use spikes + spike plates like the ones from Taoc. If yours does not have screw holes, then a mable stone is recommended. You should get some carpet underlay materials on the floor 1st, then put your mable stone piece on top, then speaker on top. Coins, or sauce disc, or many other things are not as effective as mable stone, and they can vibrate which produces sound of its own. Of course you can get some exotic hard woods like the Japanese does, but they may be more expensive than your speakers.
My speakers have screw holes already and are come with some spikes. Should I use those original spikes or buy new ones?
Also, where can I find the Taoc spike plate? Do you have any recommendation for spike plate for limited budget (several hundred for 2 speakers). What should I note when buying spike plates? Many many thanks. - 下一頁 (2 of 3)
