- #224 [teruhata], 20-05-11 09:34219 lmceric84 do you simply diy the cable one end was AES (female) to CD player and then the other end was RCA (male) without adding any adaptor or converter in between the cable? As the AES is 110ohm and rca is 75ohm, is it still doable and won’t have any issue on that? Just want to make sure as I am thinking to diy the same to link up between a cd transport to adi-2 as well. Thanks
- #223 [awwk4you], 20-05-11 00:03Why my setting is +13dBu but your setting is +7dBu

- #221 [awwk4you], 20-05-10 21:56+13dBu. Don’t know how to set volume
- #220 [arateli], 20-05-10 19:17Tried to play DSD again, it can keep +7db.
- #219 [lmceric84], 20-05-10 15:09Just diy an AES/EBU cables to rca for the connect between cd transport and adi-2. After comparison between coaxial and aes, Aes is more dynamic,
- #218 [KHS], 20-05-10 06:27studio dac must use studio XLR cable ,i use sommer cable
- #217 [awwk4you], 20-05-09 22:10Which RCA or XLR use to connect amp?
- #216 [gchan2001], 20-05-09 16:28Mine use Alessandra MS1, very satisfied with this DAC.
- #215 [awwk4you], 20-05-09 16:09What 3.5mm IEM headphone or earphone u guys use for ?
- #214 [gchan2001], 20-05-09 14:27I switch it to standby mode after use. Dark mode removes all lighting activities after a few seconds of inactive operations and setup and I do enable dark mode as i believe it cause less interference to internal circuits.
- #213 [gchan2001], 20-05-09 14:19Sorry, I use this DAC for PCM stream only, you may raise your questions in RME User Forum under DAC section as there are many very helpful pro-users there.
- #212 [teruhata], 20-05-09 14:14Another question is do you guys leave it on all the time or switch it off to standby mode? Or even change to Dark mode when inactivity?
- #211 [teruhata], 20-05-09 14:13Do most of you switch this setting to ON and change the rate to 150khz (DSD256)?
But in my streamer I should always leave the DSD setting to DoP, am I correct? - #210 [gchan2001], 20-05-09 11:57From the manual.
- #209 [arateli], 20-05-09 11:08Per my understanding, nothing we can do when playing DSD file. No preamp and volume function during playing DSD file. However, you could adjust the volume by preamp. I'm still exploring this device.
- #208 [teruhata], 20-05-09 05:47I got a question on the setup of the dac. Do you all set auto ref? If so, how high do you set for a comfortable listening level? I am currently set it as +7dBr @ -3.5db under XLR but I found when played DSD file the ref will auto changed to +1dBr and then the sound level meter will reach to yellow and even red(over) on the bar level.
Im a bit confuse on the DSD setting, i left the DSD detection on, but not sure if I should set DSD direct on and set the rate up to 150khz?
What does it do in this setting? Shall I change all the device included streamer from bitstream/direct to DOP now so that it is able to play DSD format instead of PCM?
So far it sounds impressive and I can tell the sound quality differently between using the D2 internal DAc with the RMe as I ran the digital out (bnc to coaxial) from D2 to RME, but I think it still needs more time to run in to perform better. - #207 [patkwok], 20-05-07 18:08#206
Are your running the Rock OS in your Intel nuc? Or running Window 10 for your core?
May I know how you feed I2S signal to the RME?
Thank you. - #206 [jimmyihv], 20-05-06 11:01#204
My Roon configuration:
Roon Server (Intel NUC 10710) > RPi4B (Roon Bridge - Ropieee) > DDC - DI20HE (I2S) > DAC
The Roon Bridge support up to 352/384KHz - 下一頁 (3 of 14)

Secondly, according to the standard, it also provides for transmitting AES over co-ax cable ie., unbalanced, 75 ohms. Part of the reason is that coax can have a much lower loss at AES frequencies than 110 pair cable, and therefore the signal can travel greater distances. Important if you are a broadcaster or in a large venue.
But for most RME users, the patch cable set out in the RME manual is perfect - use a consumer RCA-RCA video cable, cut one end off and terminate it on an XLR connector as per diagram. My only advice is check carefully that the RCA connector is of suitable quality. There are some RCA connectors where dimensions are not exact and they do not fit well on the RCAs on the RME (like XLRs, good RCA plugs are not cheap).
