Haha C-hing, You and I clearly understood why there were Studer and Revox brand in different market sectors. We also knew that some very well known recordings were made with A77 at scene. If you keen to listen some decent Telefunken reels set up, drop me a note.

In what way a studer sonically better than those revox?

As I never have them at the same time, and my home brew recording never a good tool for comparison.

happy with those revox, A77, B77 and a700, especially the A77, I can mess around with it without feeling ruin anything

and wonder if I have mood to buy, should I get some other breed, such as tele, or a ampex etc..


I do not use those for audiophile intention but for having analog dense feeling background music with my home brew playlist, all recorded from digital

Found these cheap Akai old relics both from the local facebook market, not far from where I live.

The first one is a 4000D and the second one is 4000DB, both for £75.

They weem working especially the light meters are still shining decently.

Heads are clean, no rust. They play well through my headphone, not yet connected.

More importantly, the capstan speed adaptors are still present. Without you won't be able to play 3 3/4 speed.
