some info about metcal solder iron. it is different from a traditional solder iron in the way it heats up the tip. there is no temperature control setting. the tip will set the temperature. so if you want different temperature, you need to buy different tip. the patent smart heat mechanism can transfer heat better than other solder iron. so for other solder iron, you might need to increase the temperature to perform the same solder joint. so if you are not careful, you can overheat your components.
