My first audition was at a second hand shop with setup of Kondo M77 and Shindo Corton-Charlemagne Amplifiers. Music was alive and not hifi. That's was in different league compared to my leben CS600 using GEC KT66.

Both Kondo and Shindo are good stuff, they both have a very low noise level, if you put your ears next to your speaker units, its dead quiet, not many tubes brands can do that.
A few years back, I had a Shindo Petrus and AT20 power, and a Kondo M77, Ongaku and Gakuoh PP in the house, in terms of sound quality, they are on the same level, only they sound different.

In Japan, almost no one knows Kondo. They have been focusing on overseas market only, and have a good overseas agent network. They went to overseas audio shows.
They even did not do Japan domestic market, only until 2009 they signed up with a domestic agent for domestic market. Soon the relationship was broken, and now they are doing by themselves in Japan domestic.

Shindo has focused on domestic Japan with only couple of agents worldwide. They also did not go to audio show overseas. (Not even sure whether they go to Japan audio show)

The above are reasons why there are quite a number of English review for Kondo, but few for Shindo.

Kondo is a well established brand with quite complete product line and good reputation. You can google to see most reveiw on their various model.

Shindo is a barely known brand but staggering price tag. You can barely find reveiws from oversea. If you want to compare further suggest you go to their showroom for audition.
