- #74 [george1977], 12-05-30 16:46Having heard MAGICO Q5 twice (once at SC and another time in Taipei), IMHO it sounds great as if hearing QUAD ESL in giant manner...many dynamic speakers do sound inferior with coloration and distraction. But it's damn power-hungry to drive....
For CPU, he behaves unlike Dr House. Although Dr House is a prank freak and troublemaker, he however solves extra-ordinary medical problems more than creating problems and putting forward fruitless argument endlessly.
Agreed with both Kuro and riskysu views that room acoustic determines the resultant sound....

Just hope ,,,really hope CPU 兄, don't BROKE this post !.. many times I see once you get into the Posts... that posts very fast is DEAD !... I just hope anyone can share the experience .nice talking.. can learn and listen... ! CPU兄, 高抬貴手!謝過!
- #72 [riskysu], 12-05-30 16:21TOTALLY agree with Kuro兄 comment..
I do studio acoustic design, music producer/engineer will point on the Studio environment .. just like Kuro's points.
But the HiFi lovers, always consider on equipments first.. sometime I think why spend much thousand on one interconnection cable might be just get little more high freq. responsed ,in fact. the acoustic treatment can help in more..
Yes acoustic treatment also is costly. ... But .... SEE , how much money people use in setup in little things. Earth box ! Silver cables.. speaker spinkle ...etc..same same value..
Q5 is good in design in sound architect, but that is not special or new in Monitor/Speaker..(I also LIKE this design fully aluminum structure). Some studio speakers use this way to make speaker such long time.Like Genelec . Sounds, very great ! agree but not the best ! ..
Room environment and Speaker placement will be my consideration in first and second step.. - #71 [Kuro], 12-05-30 15:56cpu reminds me of Dr. House. I don't find his arguments pointless or without merits. But like House, he is not always right.
I've heard the Q5 at SC. They were great, but not the greatest I've heard. Limage's Maggie 3.5 setup sounds better.
As cpu pointed out, the greatest speakers are the ones without cabinet. The most expensive and most difficult thing to achieve "the absolute sound" is the room, not the speakers themselves.
Having the right room dimension, proper acoustic treatment and speakers placement are the key. Then your electronics. The source device and amplification can make for a huge difference, even lesser speakers are used.
Unfortunately, 99.9% of us cannot afford to build the perfect room in our own home. That in itself is way more expensive than the speakers. I'd not advise anyone buying the Q5 or any similar speakers without a proper dimensioned and proper treated room. - #70 [kitahara0011], 12-05-30 14:20do a search for "cpu", will find "師兄英文太好" thread.
- #69 [kitahara0011], 12-05-30 14:15由於cpu8088師兄英文太好,時間又多,可否以後只用中文發言? 11-08-28
- #68 [NAR], 12-05-22 18:50>>>>>to me the q5 bass is still way behind em. this is understandable as the price difference is huge.
Again, your statement is always very unclear. Q5 bass compare to em??? Which model??? No one understand what you are comparing (i.e. one product with a model number while another without specifying any model). !!!! ????????
最後修改時間: 2012-05-22 18:53:16 - #67 [NAR], 12-05-22 18:00According to your post, you know what they choose according to the information you got from their sound engineers.
In post #49, I wrote, who did you talk to? Give me his name so I may give them a ring. Can you substantiate what you wrote earlier? - #66 [cpu8088], 12-05-22 16:14to ask british sound engineers to choose jewish design speakers? u must be joking
why dont u ring them up if u want the answers as per your post #49 "I like to give him a call". u may ask them who made decision on choosing the speakers.
to me the q5 bass is still way behind em. this is understandable as the price difference is huge.
最後修改時間: 2012-05-22 16:16:03 - #65 [NAR], 12-05-21 22:03>>>> am not interested dont u get it?
Perhaps you didn't get the fact straight in the first place or you simply use your wild imagination to make up such a statement.
I hope Magico will ask your local dealer to give you a too good to refuse discount on your purchase of a brand new Q5 so that you can finally forget about your first rated tweeter. Then you can come back with a photo to show us your latest pride and joy.
